Back from SPADD – GA Therap Conference on the Horizon!

It’s always a pleasure to get together with acquaintances (both new and tong time friends) at the SPADD conference in Georgia.  This year’s conference was in Macon earlier this week, and it provided a great opportunity to catch up with folks and share information about Therap.  The association has many Therap customers (who helped me spread the word about our application) as well as many wonderful providers who provide supports to individuals with disabilities statewide.  Many thanks to Diane, Curt, and all the conference staff for the opportunity to spend time with everyone and for making us feel like part of the family.

The conference also provided me with the opportunity to continue to encourage folks to attend our upcoming Therap conference in Atlanta (Roswell) on June 5th & 6th.  We’re extremely excited to be hosting our first ever conference in GA as we expect it to be a great success and the first of many more to come.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions about the conference or click here for more info/registration.  I look forward to seeing you all there!

Therap to be at SPADD conference in Macon/Therap conference in Roswell in June

I want to let everyone know that Therap (www.therapservices.net) will be at the upcoming SPADD conference in Macon, GA on May 7th & 8th exhibiting our electronic documentation system for developmental disability support providers.  As many of you know, Therap is the industry leader in electronic documentation for providers, and we are excited about the opportunity to share information on our system with you.

Therap is going strong in Georgia, and we currently have many SPADD members as users of our system.  In addition, we have recently had discussions with GA Department of Community Health officials to demonstrate our system and its potential impact for providers in the state.  We’ve received rave reviews from DCH, Delmarva, and DBHDD (including formal approval of our electronic signature from DCH), and we look forward to sharing our system with additional providers.

(For more information on our how our system meets GA standards please visit our GA state page at http://www.therapservices.net/georgia/)

In addition, I’d like to make everyone aware of the upcoming Therap conference in Roswell, GA on June 5th & 6th.   This is a great opportunity for users and non-users alike to come together to discuss Therap and its many applications for improving services.  In addition, there will be sessions to enhance knowledge of the system as well as discussion groups where state specific questions can be addressed.  For more information or to register for the conference, don’t hesitate to contact me (my contact info is below) or you may click on the following link:  http://www.therapservices.net/conferences/?p=1428

While you’re at SPADD, please come by and see us, and we hope to see you all in Roswell in June!

Sincerely,

Jason

Therap Meets with DCH Waiver Services in GA – Therap Approved!

Yesterday, Justin and I had the opportunity to go to Atlanta to meet with members of Georgia’s Department of Community Health (DCH), specifically their Waiver Services Division, to discuss Therap’s use of a secure electronic signature. As you all know, all documentation completed by developmental disability providers must be signed, and, for electronic documentation, that means a secure electronic signature that protects the security and integrity of the information submitted.

After a brief presentation of how Therap maintains the signature of staff on all documentation within the system, Therap received a categorical approval of our system for use by I/DD service providers in Georgia! While we’ve known for some time that Therap meets these standards, it’s always beneficial to have meetings with state officials to give them a first hand look at what our customers are doing. Many thanks to Leroy, Marcia, and Barbara for taking the time to meet with us and share information about Therap.

If you’re interested in finding out more about how Therap meets the standards of a secure electronic signature, visit our Georgia state page (http://www.therapservices.net/georgia/) to see a document that outlines how Therap meets the specific definition as taken from the Part I manual for Medicaid providers.

Therap and Margaritas….?

Just a quick note from a recent presentation I did with a service provider in Tennessee – after seeing the amazing benefits that Therap could offer their organization, a residential coordinator said the following, “I can just see myself now, sitting poolside, sipping on margaritas, reviewing all my documentation on the computer.”

If that’s not a ringing endorsement, I don’t know what is!

Back from Jersey…

Well, I’m back down south after another successful Therap National Provider Administrator conference in New Jersey. For all our users out there (and others who are thinking about becoming users), I highly recommend attending this conference next year. It’s always a great opportunity to network with other Therap users and learn the innovative ways that others are using our system. On top of that, it’s a great time. We always plan a visit to New York City and there’s ample opportunity to enjoy what the Big Apple has to offer.

As for me, I’m back down south spreading the good word to developmental disability service providers about Therap. We’re really booming down here with new customers coming on left and right in GA, TN, KY, SC, and other southern states. As a result, we’re hosting a Regional Therap Conference in Atlanta (Roswell) this June, and I encourage you all to attend.

Much more to come on this conference in the coming weeks, and, until then, I look forward to seeing you all in my travels around the south.

Therap Gets Rave Reviews from Medicaid Auditors/Delmarva in GA

As I continue to share information about Therap with folks around Georgia and other states, the inevitable question always arises – Yeah, Therap looks great, but will it pass a records audit? Additionally, many folks question whether Delmarva, in their role as a quality assurance agent in GA, would approve of Therap as a better alternative to other documentation systems. Although I’m quick to speak on the merits of Therap for all DBHDD providers, there is nothing better than a first hand account of a Therap user with their Mediciad auditors/Delmarva to ring home the benefits that Therap is having for providers.

Douglas Private Care Services has been a Therap user for a little over a year and they recently went through their first Medicaid audit since adopting Therap. Their director, Erica Douglas, was quick to contact me afterward to share the glowing reviews that their system received from their auditor. They commented that preparation for the audit, access to information, and the accuracy of the records within Therap were extremely improved over the paper they typically encounter. All the information was accounted for in a much more timely, efficient manner, and they really appreciated the ease with which they were able to conduct their review.

In addition, at a recent meeting attended by Erica, a representative from Delmarva stated that “the overall feedback was great and her report is very favorable. She mentioned she was pleased with Therap and felt it was the best system utilized by any agency she has seen that utilizes electronic documentation.”

Can you get a better endorsement than that? From my perspective, Therap is continuing to prove itself the industry leader in electronic documentation, and we both congratulate and thank Erica (and all the DPCS staff) for their hard work and their willingness to share their success.

For those that haven’t yet, I encourage you to get in touch with me (email me at jason.laws@therapservices.net) to see what all the fuss is about!

The Jessamine Place Rolls out Therap!

I’m back in Athens, GA fresh off a wonderful week of training our newest Therap users – the staff of The Jessamine Place in Fitzgerald, GA!  This wonderful organization provides host home and community supports for around 100 individuals in the area, and they are extremely excited to be adding Therap to their repertoire of tools for quality supports.

As you can see from the pics below, these guys demonstrated a focus to learning that may have only been matched by the tremendous southern hospitality they demonstrated for me as a guest to their organization.  Thanks so much to Shirley, Kristy, Linda Sue and all the staff of the Jessamine Place for truly making me feel at home.  In addition, we greatly appreciate their commitment to Therap and (more importantly) their commitment to quality services for people with disabilities.

And, once we were finished training, it was time to celebrate! (by the way, this cake tasted even better than it looks).

It truly was a wonderful week, and we are extremely excited to have the Jessamine Place as the newest member of the Therap family.

Therap Rolls Into Murfreesboro!

Photobucket

This week Therap hosted a Side-by-Side conference in Murfreesboro, TN with our good friends from the College of Direct Support.  We all had a great time sharing the many benefits of Therap with folks from across the southeast including Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, Arkansas, and more.  From existing Therap customers looking to bone up on the new additions we have to offer to potential users who wanted an depth look at the many modules that Therap brings to the table, a great time was had by all.

Therap continues to grow by leaps and bounds here in the south, and we look forward to growing these relationships!
