DSP Recognition Week

ANCOR’s National Advocacy Campaign sponsors National Direct Support Professional Recognition Week every year to honor the direct support workforce in America, dedicated to improving the quality of lives for millions of people with disabilities in the country. Given the emphasis that Therap puts on DSPs, we are delighted to join with in in saluting those who have a direct impact on the lives of people with disabilities. On this occasion, support providers across the United States take the opportunity to show their appreciation to these extraordinary members of the community by bringing together agency professionals, family members of persons with disabilities and other members of the community to celebrate the efforts of DSPs through events like appreciation lunch, barbecue, family game and movie night and so on. Please visit ANCOR’s DSP Week page for more celebration ideas. What are you and your agency doing to celebrate? :: Justin ::
Creating a report with weights for multiple individuals

A while back I was asked how to create a report listing weights for multiple individuals. I had to think about it for a while, but when I came up with a solution, I liked it so much I thought I would share!
So, here’s the answer:
If you’ve got any other questions you’d like answered, or you’d like to share some of your own solutions, please let me know

AZ's Video
Dawn from Occazio shared this video from one of my favourite people. AZ Soferenko, founder of Occazio (formerly Cardinal Service Management) is one of the pioneering heroes of the disability community who we all owe a great debt of gratitude to.
Check it out, and if you are ever lucky enough to be in New Castle, Indiana be sure to say hi.

Therap in New York :: Video
We are going to be at a bunch on conferences in New York in the coming weeks, including:
Five Years of Blogging
It’s amazing to think that I have been at this for five years now.
My first post was on February 17th 2005. It’s quite funny to see how many of the posts that month are still relevant.
February 17th, 2005: How big should text boxes be? We’re still debating it!
February 18th, 2005: Lots of training.
February 21st, 2005: Spell Check – still our number one question.
February 23rd, 2005: Preview of Therap 5.0 and the birth of FirstPage (for those of you who weren’t around, we just had menus before that.
February 24th, 2005: I was Google fan back then. Couldn’t imagine what they would do for my phone!
Here’s to the next five years!

What is it that Therap does anyway?
We are always looking for new ways to get across to people what it is that we do and how it can help them.
Our design team came up with the following, what do you think? Do you have ideas for how you would convey what Therap does for your agency?

Welcome to our new blogs
On the outside you can see that we have a fancy new look to all our blog (thanks to Rajiv and our incredibly talented design team), but the bigger changes are really on the inside. We have switched from having a series of separate WordPress blogs using WordPress Multiuser where all the blogs are within the same database.
The biggest benefit of this for you, dear reader, is that if you create an account for yourself on one Therap blog, you will be able to use it across them all.
So, go ahead, get commenting!
