Therap Regional Conference in Helena, Montana

What a glorious sight greeted me when I arrived in Montana on Tuesday.

Since then I think things hvae only got better.  Stephen and Matt eventually got here and despite very little sleep put on a great show.

The conference has been tremendous and we’re very excited to follow it up with Deb’s Grand Tour of Montana this summer.  Watch for much more in the way of details of that over the coming weeks.

Now I think it is probably time to try and go home.

GERs in Montana

Montana's Official Website

Due to recent changes in Montana’s Incident Management policies, users in Montana no longer need to use the Montana State Form Popup (in fact, we have now removed it).

Make sure that you check the new guidance here to be sure that you are choosing the right categories.

All of the Incident Management reated policies and forms are available on the State of Montana Website.

More Magnificent Montana

120109 Montana (19)

I have been lucky enough to spend the last couple of days in Montana.  Every time I come here I am stunned by the awesome beauty of the place and thrilled by how nice the people are.

After a couple of days of productive and exciting meetings, it’s time to head home. Thankfully I should be back for our conference in June!

Wednesday under a Big Sky

What an amazing day!  Not only did I meet with some great folks at Montana Developmental Center and at Reach but I got to drive from Helena to Boulder to Bozeman across some awe inspiring scenery on an absolutely gorgeous day.

Imagine having a view like this from  your office parking lot:

Even the view waiting for my flight is amazing:

In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m having fun with the panoramic photo feature on my Galaxy Nexus phone.

Monday in Montana

I am spending a few days in Montana meeting with some providers and brainstorming about what is coming next in Therap.

Montana never ceases to impress me with it wonderful people and awesome scenery.

This morning I was with Opportunity Resources in Missoula. Great folks. They have an amazing new art program producing wonderful pottery and works of art. They have also started a new line of business making convertible greenhouses! Be sure to check them out.

Then this afternoon I got to hang out with Greg at Helena Industries and come up with all sorts of exciting ideas!

Wednesday in Waterbury, Connecticut

Our friend Bill from Helena, Montana has a habit of sending us photos of the weather our there.  Today's was of the snow outside his office and the snow drifts a colleague had been dealing with.

I responded with a couple of my own and then realized that we are forever posting photos of all the great places we go, but never of sunny Waterbury, so here goes:

Our office is actually under the Hairdresser sign (they moved out and we took over their space, just haven't got around to sliding our sign over).  Even today, six months later, someone was in looking for a trim!

Kris is doing a nice job decorating, so maybe I can follow this up with some internal photos when he is all done.

While we may not have the most scenic office, the parking lot smells great!  Being next to Big Frank's BBQ makes you hungry the second you walk out the door.

In fact, this is a tremendous location, you can find just about anything within 10 minutes of our office.

Montana Incident Report Updated

Montana's Official WebsiteMontana

Things are moving on apace in Montana since we won the RFP there. Hopefully you have been keeping track of all of Maureen’s travels around the state. We have now visited virtually every single provider in the State of Montana and the move towards a paperless state is gaining momentum!

As part of this process (and we are learning a lot along the way too!) we released an update last night (Therap 8.4.2) which simplifies the completing of the Montana State Incident Report.

Life under a Big Sky

Every time I come to Montana I seem to like it more than before.  It just gets bigger and more beautiful.

This time I am in Big Sky (between Bozeman and Yellowstone) for the Six State Summit with folks from Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado.

I feel a bit like I am coming to a reunion there are so many people here I know and like.

It’s going to be a great couple of days

Welcome to Therapville, Montana

MontanaMontana

There is some really exciting stuff going on in Montana these days, since winning The State of Montana’s RFP, all providers in Montana now have complete access to Therap’s Individual Support modules.

We are very excited about the opportunity that this gives us to work with the whole developmental disability community in Montana as they work to provide continually improving services to Montanans with developmental disabilities.

Since my first visit to Missoula (and despite my interesting driving history there) I have really enjoyed the people, the scenery, and the whole State of Montana.  Of course it helps that we had a wonderful group of providers who were early users of Therap and really helped us get started.

Over the coming weeks and months, we will be Montana a lot (Maureen may soon have a 406 area code) doing onsite training at every single agency in the state.

We have put together a page of resources for Montana which you can see at  www.TherapServices.net/Montana. If you have any other ideas for additional training materials or other tools that might help, please let us know.

If you are a Montana provider and would like to know more about the cost and processes involved in using additional modules beyond those covered by the state, please give us a call.
