Thinking about wording in GERs
As I am sure you all know, words are very important, especially in our corner of the world.
Last year, we even say the updating of ICD-9 to recognise more current thinking.
Now, we are looking at the wording with in the “Restraint Related to Behavior” and “Restraint Other”. The word “restraint” is quite understandably a very emotive one, bringing with it reminders of a shameful past. However, it is used in many states to refer to practices that are used appropritely and safely.
We would like to replace the word restraint and some of the related terms within those sections. Obviously where we have state forms, those forms will continue to use the state wording.
I hope to present alternative language soon (we are workign with our states on this).
I’d also like to know what you think.

More Prescribers available in Therap 8.15.4
Thanks to a bunch of conversations that we had in Fishkill, we have now dropped the restriction in Medication History that a prescriber be a Physician or a Dentist.
Your full range of shared contacts is now available.
Thanks for the input!

Another Step Towards CCHIT
With our release this morning (8.14.22 for those of you keeping score at home) we have taking another step towards CCHIT compliance.
This particular state involves adding a new status field to the IDF.
We will be discussing CCHIT much more at Fishkill, don’t miss it.
Also look out for Therap 8.15 on Wendesday, it’s going to be a biggie.

With our
All Health Tracking data access to become individual based
When we introduced the MAR and First DataBank drug database, we changed the way that users accessed Medication History to be based around the individual rather than through the program and then the individual. If you click on “New” under Medication History you will see how this works for Medication History.
In an upcoming release (scheduled for February 2nd) we will be applying this same mechanism to all of Health Tracking as you can see in the screenshots below: (Click on each one to see a bigger version)
On clicking “New” in any Health Tracking section you will be taken directly to the form where you can select the individual using auto-complete.
Similarly, from the “Done” page you will be able to go straight to your next form.
Finally, reports will now include all data about an individual, regardless of the program it was filed under.
This should make life a lot simpler for everyone and hopefully make your caseload management easier too.

Coming Soon :: eCHAT :: Electronic Comprehensive Health Assessment Tool
Here’s something else I am really excited about:
What you have here is a quick walkthrough of the new eCHAT or Electronic Comprehensive Health Assessment Tool that we have developed in conjunction with the State of New Mexico.
Not only does it provide a thorough and easy to use assessment tool, but it also calculates an overall acuity level and publishes a summary with recommendations for where care plans may be required.
Also, within the assessments are links to resources to help with supports in that area.
Take a look, let me know what you think.
When it is publicly available beyond New Mexico, it will be a premium service. However we are looking for some beta testers. Interested?

Therap’s New Training Management System is getting close!
Therap’s Training Management System (TMS) has undergone a huge overhaul based on several years of customer feedback.
We hope to bring you the new release later this month.
If you are an existing TMS user, you should sign up for one of the webinars listed below that Kara is doing to show how your data will work in the new system.
All your data will be migrated across, though there will be a few blanks in places where we will now do much more in the way of activity and change tracking than we did in the previous version.
:: Justin ::
This webinar will cover what updates we will be making to the TMS system. Our estimated release for these changes is towards the end of September. Definitely join in, if you are a current TMS user, so that you can be prepared for the changes. You can also join in if you’re planning on using TMS in the future and just want to keep on top of what’s coming soon. |
