Just a heads up that our regional conference out in Denver, Colorado kicks off today.  I’m not attending but I guess I’m there in Therap spirit w/ live help and all.  If you haven’t had a chance to attend any Therap Conferences, be sure to check out our website and join us.  They’re a wonderful way of meeting other customers, networking, finding out how others are doing things, and picking our Therap brains.  The next one is in Minnesota and you can register here.

Today kicked off the second day of our Joint Therap-CDS conference.  As yesterday, a lot of great sessions, w/ valuable questions, input and feedback from attendees.  The weather is beautiful again with a lovely breeze, so I tried to hop outdoors as much as possible.  Today I also got to learn about ISPs and some of the latest updates, from Mr. ISP, himself– Sazzad!!  It’s cool because, when I first started w/ Therap, I was able to learn this module by travelling all over states like SD w/ Sazzad, and here I am again, in TN learning even more.  This evening, CDS will be hosting a movie night, complete w/ popcorn and candy … Yeah!!

Tomorrow, I’m also looking forward to having a visit with my Uncle, Aunt, and cousins, that live right here in Murfreesboro!

Starting in Tennessee…

Yesterday, I arrived here in Murfreesboro, TN for our Joint Therap-CDS conference.  I’m loving the weather, as it’s in the 80s and not humid at all.  Yeah!!  It was pretty beautiful in CT when I left but I certainly don’t mind this :)  After arriving from my flight, I spent my time setting up all I could, before getting up early this morning to finish up.  Today was started w/ tlogs, scomms, notifications, and then onto Provider Administration.  I had Jon Voits from UCP of Central Ohio helping out as well.  It’s always helpful to have our users perspectives in sessions.  This afternoon, I finish off w/ GERs, and TMS w/ Tanm before our game night.

It comes to an end…

The last day of the PA conference was kicked off with an exciting game of Therap Jeopardy!  As always, I wasn’t disappointed by the competitiveness of our Therap Customers.  Even some of the crew from Bangladesh were yelling out answers.  It was great to watch!

After that, we had a couple more sessions, before it started winding down, and people started to head out for their rides/flights home.

I want to thank all the attendees and staff who made this a wonderful conference!!! Hope you all had a safe trip home.

Kickin' it off in Kansas

Most of the Therap team is down in Kansas for the start of the Therap-CDS conference, and although it just won’t be the same without me, I’m sure they’ll manage ;) You’ll have to check out the blogs of Maureen, Justin, and others, to find out how what’s going on, if you couldn’t make it. Also, be sure to welcome Asif and Sazzad from BD!!! You can also check out our Customers’ blog, as many of them will be there with their own unique perspectives.

I’m here at the office covering stuff while others are away, and also ensuring that there are no flight delays, and they’ll be no tornadoes. I’m sure if I was down there with them, there’d be an abundance of both of those things. Here, in CT it’s a dark, chilly, and rainy day. Just perfect for Halloween on Friday! Which just so happens to be one of my favorite holidays for the following reasons:

1. Sugar
2. De-gutting pumpkins
3. Adorable children costumes
4. Scary movies on tv
5. Did I mention, SUGAR?! (not so great for the youngsters, but just fine for me!)

More later,
Kara

The Wrap Up

Well, it was a very nice time spent in Maine last week. The day ended with a great discussion of all the very cool features coming out in 8.0, and of course questions like: ‘When is T-Sync coming out?’. It’s always so great to see people’s pleased reactions to all the new stuff and that hungry look in their eyes for more. It’s a Therap addiction ;) . After that, we were packing up and ready to hit the road. Well, at least Stephen and I were. Allison still had some more Maine training and a certain pet to pick up in CT.

The week finished off as it had started– more packing and heavy lifting at my house and (fingers crossed) we should be closing on our new home today. Now, all we need is a new roof! :) I think I’d like to just be a kid again….

Day 2 @ ME Conference

Today we were up early and ready to go at around 9a.  I started off the day with a session on special access for families and guardians, mixed in some investigation information, and finished off with ISP plans.  It’s  a great group we have here, and they’re already sporting their Therap hats.

The Maine Event

It’s getting closer to our conference next week in Auburn, Maine. We’re getting ready, which means that we have to do the rare act of printing on paper… Ahh! We may need to buy stock in yellow print cartridges, because come Therap conference time, we’re always running out– thanks to the lovely Therap- Orange. Our West Office (Allison) will also be joining Warren, Jim, and I up in Maine next week.

See you all there!

Therap hits the books!

After some time on dark, winding roads through state forests, I finally made it here to Huntingburg, IN late last night—- and not a single flight delay! ;)   I joined Justin who had started some mass training with folks in Evansville, IN with Anna on Monday and Tuesday.  Today we set up shop in a cute little library for a couple sessions with folks around the area.  I had never even thought about utilizing libraries for trainings, but it definitely opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for training people who don’t have enough room, or are just in spread out, small town places.  Plus, it’s been a while since I’ve been in a library and it’s always a stimulating atmosphere.

Tomorrow, I’m on my own for some trainings to be held at a local group home. Keeping my fingers crossed that I have better luck with the Internet gods.
