The Music Within…

Yesterday was the last day of the Mega Conference, at least for exhibitors. The day went well and I got the opportunity to attend an absolutely wonderful keynote presentation by Richard Pimentel. He was a great speaker, very funny, and had beautiful stories to tell. He is also behind a movie that is coming out, “Music Within“, which is based on his life. I definitely look forward to seeing it.

This morning, (yawn), I’m in the air and heading home for the weekend. Next week I’m off to the PPAT conference in Texas, and then to Missouri for the MACDDS. As always, if anyone is interested in some onsite training, or just getting together to meet and answer questions, just let me know.

Day 1- MEGA Conference

Today was the first day of the Mega Conference here in Casper, WY.  I got here late last night and set up my booth a little after midnight, and I have to say- that late at night, the hotel had a bit of  ‘The Shining‘ vibe about it, but there were some very nice hotel staff, –actually from CT that helped me out– so, no worries ;)   Our booth is at a gi-normous table, but it definitely makes an impact right by the registration booth and entrance.  I had the chance to meet and chat with a PA from NOWCAP, who are just starting to use us, and was happy to hear that they are finding it easy to use and are excited about the process.  I also met several people from other agencies who were in attendance when Justin last visited.  Many said that they were looking into our system and were ‘pulling’ for us’, which is great.

After a full day of exhibiting, I finally dragged myself to the gym, and am looking forward to another full day tomorrow.  I haven’t had much of an opportunity to get out, but it’s been sunny here and seems to be a great area for outdoorsmen.  This town is known as the “Adventure Capital”, so I’m guessing there’s a lot that can be done to kept busy.

Valued Lives

Today was another sunny day here in WA, and it’s pretty interesting but the mountains/hills around here resemble those of NM and AZ–not quite what I’d expect.  Though, as you move towards Seattle, it’s all green.  Only wish, I remembered my camera– next time.  Anyway, today was another day of exhibiting and it was pretty cool to get a visitor who had heard of us all the way from Alaska.

After this trip,  I’m off for my vacation in North Carolina and just hoping the weather spirits continue to smile down on us there :)

Signing off,

The Apple Capital

Today, I’m in Wenatchee, Washington- world famous for its apples and 300 days a year of sunshine.  It was an early morning and about an 8 hr flight here, but was able to drive from Seattle in time to get our booth set up for the Valued Lives Conference.  I then had a break, which was much needed to catch up on email and some shut eye before heading out to the opening  session for exhibitors from 8:30p-10p.  Kind of a late time, so I could tell that many participants had retired after their pre-conference sessions, but the visitors I did get were very interested and would stop to ask questions and chat.  I also got the chance to meet 2 women from one of the agencies using us here in Washington.  They are still in the beginning phases of training w/ “Allison-manager”, (as they call her), but seem to be looking forward to getting the information in and spreading the word so that others in WA will join the paperless quest.
