CAHF & QCAF Tahoe California
Aloha Therap Friends. I walked all the way from Nevada to California today for Therap. That is how committed we are at Therap. Of course I am in South Tahoe and it was actually only a walk across the street, but my point is still valid.
I am hanging out with some very dedicated and professional folks who make up some of the 11,000+ members of CAHF and QCAF. Meeting some great people. There was an interesting presentation about how to navigate through this world of technology. It is true there are so many options out there, and unless you work for Therap you are probably not an expert in this area. As the National Leader, a presentation from Therap is essential in your exploration. We can put you in touch with providers who learned this the hard way before they joined Therap. I enjoyed the presentation, because it was not put together by Therap, but it might as well have been, because we meet or exceed all the critical criteria they outlined. You may not be an expert in technology, but we are, and we know how to bring this technology to your organization. This is not only talking about the “0’s” and “1’s”, but we are also the experts in the human side of technology and helping support folks through transitions and ongoing.
Let me know when you want to take a look, and let me prove it to you.
Tri-Counties Regional Center
It has been a very fun time here in California on my July tour, and I have enjoyed spending time in another Regional Center and meeting more of the wonderful people that choose to work supporting people with developmental disabilities and their families. No one in California can really complain too much about their geography, and the folks in Tri Counties are no exception. This is some very beautiful coastline. Of course all the folks I have met with are too busy working hard to enjoy it all the time. They are committed to raising quality or care and realize that Therap is a big part of their short and long term plans to keep their agency moving forward in the right direction. If we didn’t get a chance to get together, give me a call because I will definitely be back soon.
Orange County
If ever there is a perfect place for Therap it has to be Orange County. (Get it Therap orange?)
I have spent the last few days meeting with providers all over the Regional Center of Orange County area, and enjoying the beautiful weather. It was a little hot when I first got here, but the weather cooled down nicely and has been just right. If I didn’t get a chance to meet with you give me a call, I’m definitely coming back here soon. I even got to see the Disneyland Fireworks from my hotel, and I heard the Colored Light show at California Land is a must see.
It was nice to see all the innovative and hard working providers helping people with disabilities to have great lives. Just because its always beach weather doesn’t mean we are at the beach, folks here are working hard. With Therap of course providers work a little smarter not harder, from Residential, to ILS, to SLS, Therap has resources for everyone, and I am having fun spreading the news.
Welcome Toolworks!

I am very pleased to welcome Toolworks as the newest user in California. Located in beautiful downtown San Francisco, Toolworks partners with people with disabilities to provide an array of innovative tools and resources that promote independence, equality, and personal satisfaction. They also know how to have fun, and I had a really good time during my first visit to their main office. Toolworks supports people all around the Bay area.
I also had some time to visit the surrounding area and was reminded how unique San Francisco and the surrounding communities are. The weather was beautiful, they people are all so nice, and the diversity of cultures reminds me alot of Hawaii. There is a small problem with the ocean thermostat though. Hawaii shares the Pacific ocean, but San Francisco’s water is way too cold to be the same ocean. Budget cuts strike again, is anyone lobbying Arnold to warm up the Bay? I’m just saying its worth considering.

I am looking forward to getting back to Northern California very soon. Keep an eye out for me in Southern California this month. There is a reason providers are signing up for Therap despite the budget challenges in California…because Therap makes good economic sense. Everyone who adds technology to their life (think laptop, cell phone, personal organizer, space pen, etc.) does so because it makes life easier and the investment pays off in so many ways. So…please don’t be surprised to find out Therap fits into this same formula. Therap’s technology is not a frivolous investment for agencies with too much free time and too much money. (If anyone works in an agency like this please contact me.) Therap is a commitment to more efficient management and operations, it makes life easier, and pays off in many ways. Let me show you how.
Aloha Habilitation Services

Aloha to Aloha. These great folks are supporting people with developmental disabilities all over Oahu, so don’t be surprised if you see them out an about. This organization recently joined up with Therap to help manage their recent growth and prepare themselves for even more growth in the future.
Their Leadership made the long trip over to New York for our Annual Conference (hope you were there) and were able to consult with Therap’s designers, programmer, trainers, and of course our cutting edge customers. They were informed and inspired and have since been tackling Therap full stride and will soon be using most of the Therap modules. Therap is proud to be a part of their commitment to the future and to quality.
Easter Seals Hawaii

I have been spending a little time recently with one of our newest customers here in Hawaii. It is so much fun they are a great group of people who are quickly mastering the Therap system. After just a few short weeks in the system they are already writing ISP’s. Keep an eye out for some of their work in the Global Library, you are sure to find some good things there in the future. Keep up the great work friends!!
On-site with Flagship Group

Flagship Group LLC
I spent the day yesterday with some of the amazing team at Flagship Group. This growing company provides residential care all over Southern California. They are just getting started with Therap and are excited about using Therap to help manage their recent growth and to continue this growth. Therap provides the right support to help with this. Therap’s reporting and tracking and HIPAA secure communication makes sure the quality of care you provide keeps improving even while you are taking on new initiatives.
What’s that on the horizon, that’s Flagship Group.
Southern California
I am enjoying my time in Southern California this week. I have been meeting some really great providers and showing them how Therap can help them raise quality and save time and money.
I also got to spend some time with Home of Guiding Hands, a great organization, with a very good team. We spent some time looking at their ISP Plans and ISP Programs. There are just so many options for putting information into Therap and for pulling information out, that the challenge sometimes is picking the way that you want to use.
If you are in Southern California and we have not met yet, what are you waiting for.
Our paths will cross soon, and you will see why hundreds of providers all across the United States are excited about their documentation. When was the last time you actually got excited about writing a case note, or a progress report. Probably never, but that’s because if you are not using Therap your doing it the hard way.
Talk to you soon, and look for me driving around on the freeway system here. You’ll probably be passing me as I am still getting used to how fast people drive here.
Aloha!

California…Here I Come!
Keep an eye out for the Therap Orange in the Golden State. I’ll be headed over there to share the wonders of Therap with many high quality providers who are looking to stay on top of the technological innovations that have helped so many other providers maximize their time and money.
I’ve been thinking of that song — “California here I come…right back where I started from” For me this is so very true. I was born and raised in California, and I am looking forward to revisiting some old familiar places. So… as Therap continues to grow in the West, I’ll be heading East to be part of the excitement.
You know, there has never been a better time to add Therap to your organization. The budget crisis we are experiencing is a form of growing pains for our industry. It is a sign we are reaching and supporting more people than ever. To continue to grow we need to get more efficient; and good technology has proven over and over again to be an effective way to grow while improving quality and controlling costs. This is not just in our field but in almost every industry. Therap is that “good technology” in our field, and over 40,000 professionals already know this.
