1,000 Miles Round Trip
Made it back to San Francisco where I started this nearly two week tour. Checked the odometer and calculated that I traveled over 1,000 miles round trip. Thanks to all our current customers in this wide expanse for being so hospitable, letting me go on and on about all the possibilities Therap provides, and letting all your friends know how Therap makes so much sense. Also thank you to all the agencies who let me stop in an generously gave me some of their time to learn more about Therap. I will be back soon, and continue to support including those new folks just getting started.
Off to San Diego for more of the same and to spend some time at the Essential Learning Conference. Hope to see you there.
Paradise California
A lot of folks might say that a lot places in California are paradise, but one place has that as their official designation. California Vocations one of Therap’s newer customers is located in this beautiful place (Paradise, California) just outside of Chico. In addition to enjoying some training time with their fine staff I also got to breath the fresh air and enjoy the spectacular views. Take a look:

In addition to these beautiful canyons their are huge trees that smell great. After a great time with these folks and some other very nice people in Chico, I put some more miles in this weekend driving down to Fresno. I was able to go around the edge of Yellowstone and enjoy some more of California’s rural beauty. Lots of small towns with populations between 500 to 5,000. Here’s an example of where I stretched my legs.

Looking forward to spending some time with folks here in the heartland of California. See you soon.
Responsive Caregivers of Hawaii
A well earned congratulations goes out to my friends over at Responsive Caregivers of Hawaii. Under the leadership of Chuck Braden they have moved their agency firmly into the age of technology. This was accomplished despite the current budget challenges, and by gently supporting long time professionals in our field who had no experience with computers and were understandably very intimidated by the internet. Thanks to a gentle and slow and steady approach they are now almost fully implemented with Therap, and positioned to leverage the benefits of web based technology to respond to the next challenge that faces our field.
In Hawaii the next challenge has already appeared as a need to have guardian/parent/ caregiver verification signatures on service notes. Of course Therap is already working on this and expects to have a functional solution out in the upcoming weeks. Once again a perfect example of the options Therap’s technology gives you to deal with challenges you cannot forsee. Without Therap’s technology this would place just one more burden on your administration and managers and pull more minutes away from direct care and quality service every day, adding up to countless hours lost each year. Your budgets and margins are tight, do you have hours of time to spare???
California…Here I Come!
Keep an eye out for the Therap Orange in the Golden State. I’ll be headed over there to share the wonders of Therap with many high quality providers who are looking to stay on top of the technological innovations that have helped so many other providers maximize their time and money.
I’ve been thinking of that song — “California here I come…right back where I started from” For me this is so very true. I was born and raised in California, and I am looking forward to revisiting some old familiar places. So… as Therap continues to grow in the West, I’ll be heading East to be part of the excitement.
You know, there has never been a better time to add Therap to your organization. The budget crisis we are experiencing is a form of growing pains for our industry. It is a sign we are reaching and supporting more people than ever. To continue to grow we need to get more efficient; and good technology has proven over and over again to be an effective way to grow while improving quality and controlling costs. This is not just in our field but in almost every industry. Therap is that “good technology” in our field, and over 40,000 professionals already know this.
But you don’t have to take my word for it, come out and see for yourself. Here are the first of several stops I’ll be making on my upcoming California tour:

Aloha Therap Nation!
For those that don’t know, I am based in Hawaii on the Island of Oahu. Believe it or not we do work hard over here and even though I am so close to the beach I don’t get there nearly as often as I’d like. Here is a picture of my backyard.
I extend a warm Aloha to you all, and I encourage you to visit Hawaii when you have a chance. Seriously how many of you would come to a Therap Conference in Honolulu? I have met so many great people in my short time with Therap and I look forward to meeting many many more. Keep an eye out for more Therap users from the Northern, Western, and Southern edge of the US coming on board soon.
