Therap Services, LLC showed its new 5.0 release for the first time at the ANCOR Conference this March. Requests are now coming in from all over the country for demonstrations of the exciting new additions to our suite of state of the art online applications. Before returning to Arizona in June for the UCP National Conference, the Therap team will have covered conferences in Massachusetts, Ohio, Alaska, Florida, Minnesota and New York as well as the presentations in Missouri, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Kentucky and Alaska.
Warren Gifford, PhD, Therap President commented, “With our new release, Therap helps staff record every day activities with Health Tracking, ISP’s, Logs, Secure Messaging, and Secure Information Sharing, so you have the opportunity to further improve efficiency, staff satisfaction, and support for individuals, while complying with regulations.”
In addition to these appearances in person, a series of presentations and training sessions will take place online. You can sign up for an online training session at www.TherapServices.net/training or contact Therap for a web based demonstration of the system at a time convenient for you.
If you want to find out how you can set up and use the Therap system at your agency, just call Justin Brockie, Therap’s Director of Customer Support, on (203) 596 7553 and he will set up a demonstration for you.
Customer Focus: Shannon Cain, RN

Shannon Cain,
Supervising Registered Nurse, PrimeCare, Inc
Shannon Cain, the Supervising Registered Nurse at PrimeCare, Inc bsed in Waterbury, Connecticut, worked in the developmental disabilities field for many years before coming to PrimeCare in 1992 as a Direct Support Professional. She became a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1995.
Here, Shannon talks about an incident where Therap came to her rescue in a critical situation: “Therap Services is a really cool thing! I injured my back on Sunday evening and have been in bed for the past few days. There was a critical incident at a group home and I was able to deal with it right from my bed with the help of my laptop. All appropriate paperwork was reviewed by me with some corrections made and then faxed to DMR within the same business day!! I also have been able to check in with Therap from home and my PrimeCare email as well. I think I like this.”

Individual/Emergency Data Forms
Individual Data From
The Therap Individual Data Form (IDF) Application allows you to keep track of a wide variety of demographic data and background information on the people you support including: contacts, doctors, diagnoses (DSM IV and ICD 9), biographic details, insurance information and much more. This information is stored on an Individual Data Form. A subset of these information including the most vital information and contacts are kept on an Emergency Data Form (EDF). Users with the appropriate authorization are informed when EDFs are updated. They can then print out a new copy of the EDF.
The system will automatically notify all the appropriate users when a form has been updated. So, as soon as a change is made by the Nurse, Group Home Manager, Case Manager or whoever is permitted to update the information, all who should know about it know about it and can print their own new copies. No more waiting for copies to be circulated! No more people not having the right information!

A: When you use the Therap system, many of the tasks that took up hours of your staff’s time can now get done within minutes. These include: reviewing incident reports, collecting and analyzing statistics, entering data, bringing information from disparate locations to a central office.
The time saved can be put to better use and you wont need to think about hiring additional staff. As Carl Edwards of NHTC in Spearfish, South Dakota said, - “the amount of time our staff save by using the Therap incident reporting system has actually allowed us to increase the number of people we support, the number of people we provide services to. And I think if we were not able to use Therap anymore we’d have to hire additional staff to maintain the load that we have at this point.”
