Federal compliance requirements in effect from January 1, 2012
Effective January 1, 2012, providers of developmental disability services are required by a federal mandate to use the HIPAA Version 5010 standard for electronic claim transactions.
We are pleased to announce that Therap’s Electronic Billing system has been successfully upgraded to support Version 5010 compliance requirements.

Therap’s Billing Support application has been designed to help providers track services given to individuals and the amount that is to be billed for each service. It supports Electronic Billing which allows for direct submission of claims to Medicaid. Using Therap’s Billing modules users can create service authorizations, track billable service units and non-billable service units, send single or multiple professional claims with Electronic Billing and view claim status.
The following billing modules are available in Therap:
The Service Authorization module helps maintain a list of different funding sources that are paying for the services for each individual. Users can track information such as service description, unit of measure, unit cost, and amount among others. (Learn More…)
The Attendance Tracking module is an ideal tool for easy day to day data collection for the billing module as well as for recording daily attendance of individuals in their corresponding programs. (Learn More…)
Electronic Billing assists the billing process of providers funded by Medicaid. Users can create and send professional claims for a single or multiple individuals for one or more of their service lines. Users can also view the status of their claims whether they have been paid or denied and can resubmit denied claims after making necessary corrections. (Learn More…)

Therap’s Billing module allows setting up of the Billing Provider with detailed information which includes information such as Provider NPI Number, Medicaid Provider number, Provider address, contact details among other information. The administrative section of the Billing Module allow users to maintain a list of Services (e.g. Adult Day Training, Res Hab Supervised IRA, PREVOC, ICF etc) provided by the agency to their Individuals by creating Service Description/Code.
