Buffalo New York Therap Regional Conference August 24-25, 2011
Therap will be hosting a conference in Buffalo New York from August 24-25, 2011.
The focus is on Therap modules for New York agencies providing services to people with Developmental Disabilities served by OPWDD.
A schedule will be posted online. Also look to Kevin Lightle’s blog for more information as well. There also is a New York State page on the Therap website.
Agencies which are members of DDAWNY, NYSARC, NYSACRA and NYSRA typically find these New York Therap developmental disabilities software conferences of interest.
This conference is an additional conference added to the almost monthly user groups in New York State. In addition, we will continue to have a New York track at our national provider administration conference to be held in the Metro New York Area.
Getting Ready for Fishkill
Only one week to go before the Therap National Provider Administrator Conference focused on agencies providing service to people with developmental disabilities.
Its interesting for me to look at some of the changes in preparing for this conference compared to previous conferences.
1) We have a full schedule with over 300 scheduled sessions. The first conference we ran we were changing sessions as the day progressed. Next week there should be no changes so people can comfortably plan their schedule ahead of time.
2) We have a full schedule of user presentations. We even have some certified trainers pushing their sessions on the certified trainer blog ( such as Letisha with Personal Finance Made Easy )
3) We have people coming to the conference from approximately 20 states even though we are running about 15 regional conferences around the country. We have tried to point out the clear differences between the different type of conferences we run so people can choose the right conference to attend.
4) We are generally scheduled to run 16 simultaneous sessions. I remember when people questioned whether anyone would attend a conference focused on documentation for providers of service to people with developmental disabilities.
5) We have representatives from several states where Therap is mandated for documentation.
However much about the conference will remain the same.
I look forward to seeing many of early users as well as meeting many new people at the conference.
