The use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) improves the quality of care for people by providing healthcare professionals (such as nurses) with the tools to access and document healthcare records in a secure and timely manner.

This special interest group will discuss nationally significant issues related to EHR/EMR such as ARRA, HITECH, meaningful use and CCHIT compliance. The group will also address the needs and concerns of nurses and other healthcare professionals working within the developmental disabilities field.
