ICD 10 Primary Diagnosis Code

Author: By October 1, 2013, ICD 10 code sets will replace the existing ICD 9 code sets that are now used to report diagnoses.
The transition to ICD 10 is closely associated with the upgrading of ASC X12 version 5010 transaction standard for electronic healthcare claims, which is to replace by version 4010/4010A by January 1, 2012. The ASC X12 5010 will be able to accommodate the ICD 10 code structure.
After the recent 9.2 release, the Service Description/Code section of Therap (used in electronic billing) now accepts ICD 10 primary diagnosis codes, as well as ICD 9.
