Last week for early bird registration to CA and FL conferences
The regional conference in San Diego, California is taking place in three weeks, from December 7-8, 2011. This means that there’s less than one week left for early bird registration, which will be closing next Wednesday, November 23. Registering before that will get you a discount on fees.
Conference highlights will include:
- Hands-on training on different Therap modules including Individual Services Plans, Health Tracking and communication logs (T-Logs)
- Sessions on Therap Electronic Medication Administration Records (MAR)
- Risk assessment using Therap’s Individual Plan of Protective Oversight and Safeguards (IPOP)
- Therap Training Management System (TMS)
As always this will be an opportunity for prospective users to learn more about Therap’s web-based products and services for the developmental disabilities community.
This is also the last week for early bird registration to the regional conference in Kissimmee, Florida taking place from December 6-7 this year. In addition to usual training intensive sessions, the conference will include a number of sessions on nationally significant topics such as CCHIT and the meaningful use of Electronic Health Records (EHR).
What happens when medication is changed on a MAR?
If someone makes a change to a MAR (Medication Administration Records), the users will be told that the MAR is ‘locked’ for configuration. It will stay that way until a user with ‘MAR configuration approve’ role reviews and approves the change. This will unlock the MAR for data entry.

For example, if someone’s Celexa dosage changes from 20mg to 10mg, on someone’s Medication History, the MAR will be locked until that change has been approved.
Due Medication in Medication Administration Records
In addition to the monthly grid, Therap Medication Administration Records (MAR) now support a ‘Due Medication’ list which lists all medications scheduled to be administered during the day.

This will simplify daily medication administration as well as reduce the chances of making an error.
This list also displays overdue medications, – medications that have not been administered to individuals on time.
MAR Updates in Therap 9.0!
With the release of Therap 9.0, the following new MAR features will be included for our users:
1. Users can now precisely schedule a medication using our new Medication Schedules section in the Medication History form with advanced options like ‘Day of the week’, ‘Every Alternate Day’ etc. If the ‘Frequency’, ‘Starting From’ date and the ‘Schedule Time’ of a Scheduled medication is entered into the Medication History form, the corresponding cells in the MAR will automatically be colored green.
-

2. To re-schedule an already scheduled medication users can simply click on the corresponding cells on the Medication Administration Record Configuration page. These changes will reflect on Medication Administration Record Data page.
-

3. PRN and Other medications can now be entered just by clicking on the Record Administration link at the top-right corner of the respective sections. All non-scheduled (PRN and Other) medications administered appears as a list in the respective sections.

4. A new Due Medication option has been added to the MAR module where users can quickly access a list of medications they need to administer on a specific day. This new feature will also list Overdue Medications - highlighting medications that have not been administered by the users, in due time.
-

5. After the Medication Administration Record has been successfully approved users will now be able to open the form in configuration mode by clicking on the Open This Form in Configuration Mode link.
