Justin M. Brockie
Chief Operating Officer, Justin Brockie, has a long experience in working with people with developmental disabilities. As a Registered Nurse, Justin has supervised residential and day supports for people with disabilities, trained staff and developed agency policies and procedures. Before joining the Therap team, he was a Program Director at Community Systems (CSI), Torrington, Connecticut, managing supports for people with disabilities in residential settings.

Justin trained as a Registered Nurse for the Mentally Handicapped at Napier University, Edinburgh, Scotland. From 1988 to 1995, he worked in the 600-bed Gogarburn Hospital (Edinburgh), where he was actively involved in the development and implementation of a five-year closure plan. After moving to Connecticut, Justin worked for the Corporation for Public Management and Community Residences, Inc. before moving to CSI in 1997.

Justin has worked with providers and governments in almost every state in the USA as well as internationally.  Over the last four years, he has presented to hundreds of agencies ranging from those supporting just a few people to the largest providers and states in the country.  Justin has also worked directly with families and self advocates from across the US and beyond.

Justin has overseen the development of Therap’s Support and Implementation to its current status at the forefront of the industry.  Justin’s expertise has been sought out by groups such as ANCOR’s National Advocacy Campaign for Direct Support Professionals, The Association of Support Professionals, and many other state and national disability and industry groups.

Justin is also the foster parent of a two year old with significant disabilities and Educational Surrogate for another child.  In what time he has left after all of this, he coaches youth soccer and is developing an enjoyment of robots.  You can keep up with Justin on his blog: www.therapservices.net/blog/justin
