Only a Week Remaining for the Regional Conference in Wichita, Kansas

It is that time of the year! Therap Regional Conference in Wichita, Kansas is less than a week away. The conference is scheduled for September 23-24, 2019 and will be held at the Hotel at Old Town. This event is going to be two days full of sessions for Kansas and Oklahoma users and a chance to network with your counterparts from across the state. Therap experts Catherine, Heather, Stacy, Jeremy, and Bonnie will walk you through the conference and will answer questions that you may have.

The Kansas Therap Community consists of residential, day, employment, case management, community developmental disability organization (CDDO), and pharmacy providers and continues to grow. Over 40 service organizations throughout the state use Therap solutions for documentation, improved support team communication, reporting, billing, and more!

Know the hosts:

Catherine Hauser is a Training and Implementation Specialist at Therap. Her experience in the developmental disabilities field began in 2005 in Illinois as a Direct Support Person. Prior to joining Therap she also served as chairperson to the Human Rights Committee. 

Heather Thornton is a Billing Specialist at Therap. She has worked in the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD) field for over 4 years in various capacities. At her previous agency, Heather helped to implement Therap from T-Logs to Billing

Stacy Wilson is currently a Business Development Consultant here at Therap. She joined Therap Services back in 2016. She began her work serving individuals in the I/DD field in 2007 as a Direct Support Professional, followed by roles in program coordination, and most recently served as the Assistant Director at Harmony House Care Homes in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Jeremy Gibson works as a Training Specialist at Therap. He began working in the Developmental Disability field since the year 2011. He has been a Direct Care employee and later on worked as a Training Coordinator. 

Bonnie Sorrells is a Training & Implementation Specialist. She joined Therap Services in 2018. She previously worked for Ouachita Enrichment Centers in South Arkansas as the Director of Adult Services and HIPAA Coordinator for 15 years during which she received training in HIPAA, behavioral planning, case management, medication management, and supported employment.

Bonnie Sorrells is a Training and Implementation Specialist at Therap. She previously worked for Ouachita Enrichment Centers in South Arkansas as The Director of Adult Services and HIPAA Coordinator for 15 years during which she received training in HIPAA, behavioral planning, case management, medication management, and supported employment. Oklahoma Therap Community: Tulsa Area Informational & User Group Meeting

Join our upcoming Oklahoma Therap Community: Tulsa Area Informational & User Group Meeting on May 8, 2019. Our Therap Community User Group will take place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (CDT) and will be hosted by Quality First Pharmacy in Tulsa. What is a user group?

A user group is a group of Therap users in the same state or area who meet to troubleshoot, network, discuss state and regional issues, and learn about the newest Therap releases. It is an open forum to check in with Therap and learn from and share with other Therap users in your area. They also can contain training on any portion of Therap’s system.

Caiti Woodburn is a Training and Implementation Specialist at Therap. She has been working in the developmental disabilities field since 2008. Prior to joining Therap, Caiti has worked as a Direct Care Staff and also had experience as a user and provider administrator of Therap system.

Bonnie Sorrells is currently working as a Training & Implementation Specialist at Therap Services. Prior to joining Therap Bonnie has been the Director of Adult Services and HIPAA Coordinator for 15 years. During that time she received training on HIPAA, behavioral planning, case management, medication management, and supported employment. Bonnie has also worked as a Therap administrator.

Caiti Woodburn joined Therap Services back in 2017. She began working in the DD industry in 2008 as a Cabin Staff member at Wonderland Camp in Rocky Mount, MO. Caiti gained experience as a user and provider administrator of the Therap system at Community Choice Inc. in Kansas City until making the switch to Therap.

Jeremy Gibson joined Therap in 2018 as a Training Specialist. He began his career in the DD field in 2011 as a direct care employee with Community Support Services of Missouri in Joplin, MO. He also worked in a QA role and assisted with ensuring health and safety standards were met for CARF accreditation until coming to Therap in July 2018.

Meet the presenters:

Michelle Saunders is a Business Development Consultant who joined Therap Services in 2012 primarily focusing on Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Michelle has worked in the non-profit sector with agencies supporting persons with I/DD and MH diagnoses since 1995, starting as a direct care staff and then as a case manager in Central Pennsylvania.

Catherine Hauser has joined Therap Services in 2017. Her experience in the developmental disabilities field began in 2005 in Illinois when she became a Direct Support Person. Currently, she is a Training & Implementation Specialist here at Therap Services.

State Conference in Oacoma, South Dakota

Join our upcoming State Conference in Oacoma, South Dakota on February 20-21, 2019. The conference will be held for two full days of sessions lead by Therap experts. This is a great opportunity to network with your counterparts from across the state. Therap is working with South Dakota Division of Developmental Disabilities to provide Data Collection, Plan Sharing, Case Management Billing, and Critical Incident Reporting. South Dakota has implemented Critical Incident Report (CIR), Service Support Section of ISP Plan, Case Note Billing, Quarterly Monitoring Report and many more. Providers in South Dakota cannot bill for current month’s services unless the person has been discharged. Newly admitted individuals will need to be assigned to a Case Manager, enrolled in a program and have a Service Authorization in place.

The conference will be a good place to learn about new developments in the Therap system, along with individual support documentation and reporting, electronic health records (EHR) and training management from the technology leader in the developmental disabilities field. There will be beginner, intermediate and advanced level sessions.

About the Presenters:

Justin M. Brockie is Chief Operating Officer at Therap. Justin has worked directly with state and county governments and large multi-state providers. He has led Therap’s development, technical, customer support and training teams in devising new, innovative solutions to issues confronted by human service professionals.

Jeff Mau is Business Development Consultant at Therap. Jeff became familiar with Therap platform when he took on the role of Regional Therap Coordinator for Mosaic, a national service platform. He primarily works with agencies in Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska.

Leah Sewell is Senior State Implementation Specialist at Therap. Prior to joining Therap, Leah used Therap system for documentation of supports in Southern Maine. She currently provides online training and support to providers involved in the statewide implementation of Therap.

Jeff Covington is Deputy Director of State Implementation at Therap. Jeff has extensive experience in project management and leading a diverse team to successful outcomes. His role is to oversee the implementation of Therap for States.
