Therap Team visited Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation, April 2018

Therap team visited Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation (BPF) main branch at Mirpur on April 8, 2018. A team of eleven people from Therap were present on that visit, which included Therap experts in the PWD field who has been working in the field of intellectual disability for more than 20 years. USA personnel Michelle Saunders (Business Development Consultant), Fayonne Johnson (Senior Training & Implementation Specialist) from Therap USA team along with Therap’s Asia team, Marketing team, Software Engineers and Quality Assurance professionals from Therap Bangladesh visited Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation (BPF). BPF has been using Therap for documentation since 2016.

Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation (BPF) is ensuring equal rights of children and persons with disabilities and creating opportunity for equal participation in all spheres of life and making them independent, self reliant and contributing member of the society.

Therap team reached school in the early morning. Dr. Shamim Ferdous (Executive Director, BPF) gave a warm welcome to Therap team. The team got a tour of the entire school building of BPF. Therap team visited the classrooms in BPF and had opportunity to look at different kinds of activities and services provided in every classroom. Dr. Shamim Ferdous explained each of their activities during the tour. Later in the day, there was a cultural program which was performed by the students. The Therap team enjoyed the cultural program and took photos with the children.

Therap Team at Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Provinsi Banten

Johanna Kroth, Senior Training and Implementation Specialist and Prattay Iqbal, International Business Development Executive from Therap Services visited Jakarta during the first week of November and visited few agencies working with persons with disabilities. Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Provinsi Banten is one of the few organizations who are doing some amazing work for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Indonesia.

During the visit chairperson of Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Provinsi Banten Ms. Renowati Hardjosubroto welcomed Therap team cordially. Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Provinsi Banten is currently a prime example of implementing Therap in Indonesia. They have been successful in implementing Therap for most of their documentation which they use to do in paper. They have already created a database of all their students in Therap. They are very excited to use Therap for documenting progress and health information of all their students.

During the visit teachers from Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Provinsi Banten had a training session with Johanna and Prattay. They had a lot of questions and were keen to learn more. Johanna with her 30 years of experience in the disability field shared her views with the teachers and was very excited to know about the work the teachers do. It was an amazing experience for Therap team to meet and speak with the hard working staff of Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Provinsi Banten and hope to continue working together in the future.

Therap’s Plenary Session at 23rd AFID Conference, 2017

Therap was the technology partner and one of the sponsors of the 23rd AFID Conference that took place in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The conference was held from November 19, 2017 to November 23, 2017 at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre.

The conference started off with inauguration from the President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid on November 19, 2017. On November 21, 2017, the Plenary Session – Education and Health was started off by the Therap team. Prattay Iqbal (International Business Development Executive) and Tanvir Wares Khan (Senior Software Engineer) gave a presentation regarding  improving  quality of services provided to people with disabilities by using Digital Documentation. Prattay Iqbal talked about why digital documentation is important in the disability sector and the benefits of using an electronic documentation software like Therap.  He also talked about the various modules/features of Therap and how users are benefitting by using these features in their day to day documentation. Tanvir Wares Khan talked about why an user’s data in Therap is  secure and how the infrastructure of Therap help users quickly deploy Therap, access the software from anywhere and helps them save large upfront costs.  He also explained why Therap is the best option for concurrent usage.

The conference attendees from different countries of Asia showed interest in using Therap after attending the presentation given by the Therap team.

Therap Team in Indonesia, visits Jakarta CP Center

During the first week of November Johanna Kroth, Senior Training and Implementation Specialist and Prattay Iqbal, International Business Development Executive from Therap Services visited Jakarta to meet with organizations serving and working with persons with disabilities (PWD).

Therap Team started off with a mandatory sightseeing of the beautiful Jakarta city and visited the National Monument and the National Museum. Later on Johanna and Prattay attended a meeting with one of the pioneers for providing services to the PWD in Indonesia, an umbrella organization YPAC Nasional. YPAC  has many other branches all over Indonesia providing services to the PWD. YPAC  took  the Therap team to  one of their branch Jakarta CP Center and showed around the facility. YPAC is doing exemplary work with their services and are keen to implement Therap for their documentation. YPAC Jakarta also known as Jakarta CP Center is currently in the training phase of the implementation process with Therap and has continuous online training for better understanding of the Therap software.

Johanna with her 30 years of experience in the disability field shared her views with the teachers, therapists, administrators and expressed gratitude towards the organization for the services they are providing to the disability community. Overall it was a day well spent.

Therap Continues Onsite Training with Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation (BPF)

Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation (BPF) is one of the leading organizations in the disability field in Bangladesh and they have been using Therap since 2016. Recently Therap team has conducted a training session with BPF on October 5, 2017. During the training session, Therap team followed up with teachers about T-log which is an easy but very effective module of Therap. The training was very interactive and the teachers found out an easier way for regular documentation.

Therap has been constantly updating Therap Asia website with support materials such as Training videos and User Guides which are currently available in English and Bangla. Such materials have been very useful for the users and helps them understand and work on Therap modules independently.

Special schools and organizations in Indonesia starts training and implementing Therap

Therap have been working with organizations and special schools supporting persons with disabilities for a long time with a global system in place. Therap is an ideal solution for documenting education plan, vocational programs, supported living, therapies and children’s services. It also produces reports based on the data entered and is currently used worldwide.

This May 2017,  Therap personal Shamim M Chowdhury, Director of HR & Vital Assets, Faisal Iqbal, Assistant Director of Training and Implementation and Prattay Iqbal, International Business Development Executive visited organizations in Jakarta to implement Therap, a documentation software for Persons with Disabilities (PWD). Organizations providing services to PWD such as YPAC Nasional, Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Province Banten, Yayasan Pendidikan Dwituna Rawinala and Rumah I’M Star had their first training session with Therap. All the organizations were enthusiastic and excited about using and benefiting from Therap – A digital database of individuals and the services they receive.

Therap is also providing online training sessions to Indonesian organizations working with Persons with Disabilities (PWD). Recently Yayasan Sayap Ibu Cabang Province Banten had an informative online training and is looking forward to more such training with Therap.

Training of 3 Schools of SWID

The training of 3 schools have been continuing at SWID. The 3 new branches of SWID will be using Therap for Documentation. As part of providing the service to the new schools, Therap is providing training services for the new schools. In this training session, how to use Therap effectively was taught. On this training session, the training was conducted by Andalib Kabir, International Business Development Executive, and Ashiqur Rahman, Training and Implementation Specialist of Therap. The schools are making progress towards using Therap for documentation.

Therap to Visit Sri Lanka

Senior officials from Therap will visit Sri Lanka from Sunday, 3 April 2016. On this visit members of the visiting team will be visiting different governmental and non-governmental institution in Sri lanka. Alot of these institutions in Sri Lanka have already started using Therap. They have been keeping real data in Therap. On this visit we will explore more options and have meetings with different  government and non-government officials from the Intellectual Disabilities field. Among the members who will be part of the visiting team, Andalib Kabir, International Business Development Executive and Faisal Iqbal, Assistant Director, Training and Implementation at Therap.

New Schools Start Training at SWID

New schools have started training on Therap. There are 3 new schools which has started the training on Therap. These schools are different branches of SWID. Currently we are focusing on the branches of SWID which are based in Dhaka. Very soon all the branches of SWID located in Dhaka will be using Therap, and generating data. This training was attended by officials and teachers from the 3 schools. This simultaneous training was conducted by Andalib Kabir, International Business Development Executive, and Ashiqur Rahman, Training and Implementation Specialist of Therap. We are expecting soon the new schools will start using Therap.

Training at Society for the Welfare of the Intellectually Disabled (SWID), Bangladesh

Therap arranged a training and implementation session at Society for the Welfare of the Intellectually Disabled (SWID), Bangladesh. In this session of training administrative officers, educational psychologists, physiologists and teachers of SWID were also present at the training. The training session was conducted by Malisa Mehjabeen, Senior Training and Implementation Specialist, Andalib Kabir, International Business Development Executive, and Ashiqur Rahman, Training and Implementation Specialist. A new batch of trainees have started training with Therap. Part of the trainees will train other institutes under SWID around Bangladesh. This has been an interesting session for us.
