Therap has been expanding in Asia for more than a year now. More than 40 organizations and special schools are using Therap for their day to day documentation and progress tracking. To make things enhanced for the users, Therap has launched a website for Asia – www.therapasia.net.

 

If you are a Therap user from Asia, this is the place for you to have any kind of assistance. The website contains all the information regarding TherapAsia. From support materials to blogs on activities in Asia – you can get all updates in one place.

 

Therap has been constantly modifying the website with updated stuffs. Support materials such as Training videos and User Guides are currently available in English and Bangla. Therap is looking to prepare all the materials in other languages such as Sinhala, Tamil, Nepalese, Indonesian etc., according to the preferences of users of Therap in Asia.

Therap Continues Online Training with Bangladeshi Organizations

Therap is continuing online training sessions with the leading disability organizations in Asia who are working for the betterment of the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). In Bangladesh, Therap has been working with over 20 schools and other disability organizations to ensure better quality of services towards the people with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities.

This week, Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation (BPF) and SEID Trust have had their training sessions with Therap. The sessions were full of anticipations, queries and innovative discussions between the teaching stuffs of the organizations and Therap trainers.

Therap is expecting to have more and more effective sessions like these, with all the disability organizations and special schools in Bangladesh.

Learn to Work on Therap – As Easy as it Gets

For Therap users all over Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal who are willing to learn to use Therap by themselves here is a good news! In your efforts to support people with disabilities (PWD) in your school or organization, we would like to let you know about the Therap Asia Training Videos we have on our website. These training videos contain step by step guidance and instructions by a Therap trainer with subtitle for users to have a clear idea on how to work with Therap.

The training videos are currently available in English and Bangla. We are working on creating more and more training videos in various other languages to make it easier for Therap users to learn working with Therap within a short span of time.

Therap at the Opening Ceremony of Special Olympics 2nd South Asian Unified Cricket 2016

Special Olympics Bangladesh organized the 2nd South Asian Unified Cricket 2016. Therap was invited to attend the opening ceremony which took place in Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Narayanganj. Minister for Road Transport & Bridges for Bangladesh Mr. Obaidul Kader, Deputy Minister for Youth & Sports Mr. Arif Khan Joy, Mr. Shamim Osman M.P and the chairman of Special Olympics Bangladesh Dr. Shamim Matin Chowdhury inaugurated the opening ceremony. Special schools in Bangladesh Beautiful Mind School, Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation, Proyash and SWID Bangladesh participated in a wonderful display for the opening ceremony. Participants for the cricket tournament from Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan were also present at the ceremony.

Therap Training Continues in Sri Lanka

Therap visited Colombo on the last week of October, 2016. Prattay Iqbal from International Business Development visited special schools and agencies in Colombo who already signed up with Therap. On site training were given to the teachers and administrators of Daya Mina, Supem Uyana, Meth Mihira, The School for Blind, Child Guidance Center and Victory Special School in Colombo. MENCAFEP from Nuwera Eliya have been attending online training with Therap for a while and this time other schools were also willing to arrange remote training sessions.

We visited various other special schools in Colombo as well. Most of them will start implementing Therap from 2017.

Therap finishes training at Sisters of Charity

We are please to announce that, Therap finishes its training at with the Sisters of Charity. In this phase of training, the staff and sisters of the Sisters of Charity took part in the training. The sisters and staffs who took the training in Colombo, will be followed up by Therap in the coming days. It was an interesting experience for us to see how do they cope up with a new technology such as Therap. The training was provided in an environment conducive for learning. We hope we will be able to come back to provide more training sessions in here.

Sisters of charity has been providing premier quality services to the persons with Intellectual Disabilities. For years now they have been advocating for the rights of persons with Intellectual Disabilities in Sri lanka. They have 3 institutes, the oldest of which dates back to 1964.  They started the youngest of the institutes to serve the severely affected persons with Intellectual Disabilities by the Boxing Day tsunami, which devastated Sri Lanka in 2004.

Therap at Sisters of Charity

Sisters of Charity has started using Therap. As part of their training and implementation Therap conducted a training session for Sisters of Charity. Sisters of charity has been providing premier quality services to the persons with Intellectual Disabilities. For years now they have been advocating for the rights of persons with Intellectual Disabilities in Sri lanka. They have 3 institutes, the oldest of which dates back to 1964.  They started the youngest of the institutes to serve the severely affected persons with Intellectual Disabilities by the Boxing Day tsunami, which devastated Sri Lanka in 2004. The training session was administered by Malisa Mehjabeen. The participants included sisters from different institutes of Sisters of Charity.

Training at a government institution in Sri Lanka

Therap conducts another training session at a government institute in Sri Lanka. The training was administered by Malisa Mahjabeen in the facility of the government institution with the staff and teachers receiving the training.  The government of Sri Lanka is providing services to persons with Intellectual Disabilities through different institutions and organizations. The institute which received training from Therap, already started using Therap for their documentation purposes.
