Went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it! It’s always tough when taking a long book and turning it into a move, some things are bound to be left out. This is particularly the case with books like Harry Potter where a lot of the fun is in the sub plots and smaller scenes.
To this end a lot of favourite bits of the book weren’t in the movie, but the way it was all put together worked for me. Most surprising was how funny it was, they did a great job of portraying male teenage angst, especially around school dances!
Whenever I go to the movies I like to stay and watch all the credits, sometimes you learn something interesting, sometimes you see a strange job title or name, sometimes there is a little scene or out take at the end. In the case of this move, the winner was the statement towards the end that “No dragons were harmed in the making of this film”. That would have been a great title for this blog post, but I thought someone else was going to use it!
