Jim should be back in Connecticut by now, here’s a few more of the pictures he sent along with a few of his comments.
The picture of the interior of the hotel is for a reason. The interior of the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel was designed by a native Alaskan, Robert Schoppert, a Tlingit Indian. He used a design based on a Yapik Eskimo arrow quiver found on Kodiak Island in 1850 for the columns of the hotel interior.
I thought it was cool.
Lake on Rte 9 on way to Seward, near the village of Moose Pass, the lake is aquamarine in color.
This is just to prove that Jim did actually do some work out there – here he is at the Full Lives Conference.
Waterfall on road in Seward, Alaska
I think this is one of the best pictures of the mountains along the Turnagain Arm, which is an upper part of the Cook Inlet.
The picture of a snow covered river was of the Chena river in Fairbanks, Alaska, it was 9 degree above zero with 3 & ½ inches of snow that day.
I will be glad to come back to Alaska in warmer weather or colder, who cares, what a great place!
