To help Calum with a project on Hadrian’s Wall (playground wall,Mrs. Wall) we took a quick trip down to Newcastle and onto Wallsend and the site of the Roman fort at the eastern end of Hadrian’s Wall (more proof that it was the Scots that brought the Roman Empire to its knees!)
Apart from being bone chillingly cold, it was a great day. The train trip down the south east of Scotland is one of my favourites and then there are the famous bridges in Newcastle (as seen on the Newcastle Brown label).
Still smiling and enjoying reading the paper after yesterday’s football!
