Tonight was the final game of the winter indoor soccer season. We happened to lose to a very good team, but once again the team did a tremendous job.

We celebrated at CC’s in Wolcott with some fine ice cream … just the thing on a cold spring night.

Looking back on this and previous seasons, I really am tremendously lucky. I coach such a great group of boys who are fun, hard working, and even polite and respectful (most of the time). I am also especially proud when I keep seeing them mentioned in notices about academic awards. Along with this comes a wonderful group of supportive parents who know how to cheer on the kids and the team (I have a whole set of parental rules, but these guys follow them without being asked … too often! :-) ).

Then on top of this is Rich who coaches with me and is a policeman and former paramedic. He is great with the kids and can always keep them in line or patch them up – which ever is needed!

I’m already excited about the fall season and can’t wait for it to start (I force myself to take the spring season off).
