Philadelphia’s Citizen’s Bank Park was cold, very cold. It wasn’t so much the flat out temperature as it was the wind chill. It was whipping straight through the park taking hats and garbage with it. Despite the extremely cold temperatures, in the sixth inning I still got a soft serve ice cream sunday in a plastic baseball helmet. (I have over 40 in my collection) Other than the cold the stadium didn’t seem to have a lot of life. Part of this was the freezing temperatures but been if it had been warmer I doubt it would have been very loud.

The Phillies were playing the Houston Astros in the game we saw. Roy Oswalt was on the hill for the Astros and Bret Myers for Philadelphia. I can say that it wasn’t a picture’s game. There was 15 walks, 15 runs, 4 home runs, and a balk. Carlos Lee hit for three homeruns and six RBIs. One of those homeruns was a grandslam that gave the Astros the lead in the third inning. Dan Wheeler (a former Met) closed the game out by striking out the side.
