When one screen just isn't enough!

One of the things I have tried recently (based on the advice of my friend Keith) is using more than one monitor at once!

It’s actually really cool.  I have always like big screens and small text so that I can see lots of stuff and have multiple windows open at once.

Well, this just gives me even more screen real estate, all I do is scroll or drag things of the left hand side of my laptop screen and they end up on the monitor (this is a nice big on we use for conferences and stuff).

More upgrades tonight

The last few weeks have seen an awful lot of activity here in Therapville what with the release of 7.0 and some significant performance improvements (more on performance issues later).  Tonight we will be taking the next step in some major hardware and infrastructure upgrades that are  part of our constant mission to bring you better products and better services (as well as to go where no human services application has been before!).

As a result of this, the system will be unavailable for a while (we are projecting 5:00am to 7:00am EST on Sunday 2/25.

iPost of the day

This is my first time trying to do anything of any significance on a Mac. It is a slightly strange experience (for example, I installed Firefox earlier, but I have no idea where it has gone!).

Either way, this is just another piece of testing for us so that we can be sure that Therap works in as many places as possible.

If you have some hardward that you’d like Therap to work on, just let us know – and I’ll let you know if I can adjust to this whole one mouse button lifestyle!

Therap system briefly unavailable

Our system was unavailable to you for a couple of hours this afternoon. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

We are working hard to complete our new infrastructure which will be able to cope with this kind of event (losing a T1 internet connection) by automatically swapping over to our synchronized secondary site.

If you would like to know more about the technical aspects of this, please give me a call and I would be delighted to answer to the best of my abilities or pass you on to someone else on the team who knows much more about how all that stuff works.

Don't forget your Provider Code!

Our change over to the new servers has gone very well so far, I hope you have all changed your bookmarks where needed and are carrying on as before.

This morning though I was reminded of one possible wrinkle. You probably haven’t had to type your provider code in quite a while! Previously, when logging back into the system, it wouldremember it. However going over to the new server, the field will be blank the first time you log in.

Please make sure that all your staff are aware of this and know what your provider code is.

Starting Saturday, August 13th Therap Services is implementing a major upgrade of our facilities: new servers, new sites, new storage and improved backup and operations, all to serve you better. We are making this change for a number of reasons, including improved performance and more flexibility for new services.
