One of the things that I have learned in my many, many years on this earth is that fixed plans never work, life has a way of introducing the unexpected.

For this trip it has been the fact that Siraya has come down with a rather nasty upper respitory infection.  To start at the end, she seems to be doing much better now!  However it’s been a bit a journey getting to here involving a couple of trips to the ER at the Queens Medical Center in Honolulu.  Should you ever happen to be stuck over on this side of the world and need some medical care, these are these guys to see.  There were quick, friendly, effiecient, and even dealt with all the red tape involved in treating a foster child.  We couldn’t be more grateful to them!

Now, however, as she is on the mend we were able to dip her toes in the ocean for the first time which was hilarious!  Try to imagine never having been to a beach before an not being able to see very well and then trying to work our what is going on as waves lap over your toes and drag the sand back again!
