We spent about 11 hours today making the 2 1/2 drive from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to Missoula, Montana!
Along the way we saw a couple of road signs, one for a Gondola ride and the other for a mine tour. Each of them was wonderful in their own way, I’ll post a bunch of photos on Flickr once I get them off my camera.
The Gondola ride at Silver Mountain took us something like 3 miles up into the mountains followed by two chair lifts to the top of a mountain and an old forrest fire spotting station.
In Wallace, Idaho we had wonderful guided tour of an old mine by an official “crusty old miner” who was able to share his experiences of working down the local mines.
An interesting aside was that all this took place off Interstate 90 which if you keep going east on eventually turns into the Massachusetts Turnpike!
