Heart of Midlothian 4 – Aberdeen 1

On Armistice Day, Hearts followed a service at the War Memorial at Haymarket with the kind of service they’ve been able to provide on and off this season but with absolutely no consistency.

Hearts as a team are drawn to what I consider the very best and most noble side of what can be an excuse to glorify war.

In 1914 the entirety of Hearts first team (leading the league at the time) and signed up to join McRae’s Battalion and serve (and suffer) in the trenches of World War I.

Next week there is no club football, just Scotland’s biggest international in forever as they need to beat Italy at Hampden to qualify for Euro 2008
