It’s been a tough couple of weeks for the Mets recently losing something like nine of the last ten games.  In particular the Carlos’ have been horrible (Beltran, Delgado, and even Gomez).

I am keeping my fingers crossed that Roger Clemens is the tonic that we all need.  Granted there is no Mike Piazza to be thrown at (balls, bats, whatever Clemens can get his hands on) or to hit everything that Clemens throws.

So far things are going reasonably well, one Carlos (Gomez) is having a decent game.  The other two (and Delgado in particular) are horrible but Jose Jose-Jose-Jose seems to have his hitting and running boots on.

As I write, the Mets are beating the Yankees 2-0 in the middle of the 8th inning.

Fingers crossed.

Phew!  Let’s hope that this is the start of something (and the end of something for the Yankees!)
