Today has been a truly wonderful Christmas, full of family, food, fun, and frivolity.  My parents house has been stuffed full of gradchildren and the assorted people that they bring along with them, though the children and their accompanying husbands and wives are undoubtedly far less significant than the grandchildren of which six out of seven were present: Matthew (18), Caitlin (16 and working in Wales just now, due up later in the week), Iona (14), Mollie (13), Calum (12), Julia (2 and very much the centre of attention) and Catherine (just 4 weeks).

Stockings were opened, gifts shared, church attended (iona’s favourite sermon yet – it involved very few words and the sharing of a box of chocolates), then lots and lots and lots of food eaten.  Notable childhood favourites were the roast parsnips, the merangues, and the brandy butter!

Now it is time to nap and prepare for Boxing Day.  Well, maybe ONE more game of Loco Roco!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!
