A couple of fine soccer results from either side of the Atlantic yesterday.  At Tynecastle, Hearts beat Aberdeen 3-0 to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup where they will face either Partick Thistle or Inverness.  There is now a reasonable chance that Hearts could face Hibs in the cup final in May (Rangers and Celtic have both been eliminated).  Not sure what I think I about that.  If we were to win, there would be nothing better, but the thought of losing to Hibs at Hampden just doesn’t bear thinking about and wouldn’t be forgotten for decades.

There was a poll on a Hearts discussion board recently as to whether people would rather win the league and lose the cup final to Hibs or come second in the league and beat Hibs in the cup final.  Most people went for the latter!

Meanwhile, over here, the Wolcott Warriors U-11 Boys won their 3rd game of the winter indoor season (we have never won more than one game in a winter season!).  Once again the boys were immense, playing intelligent, skillful, and high energy soccer that was a real joy to watch!
