Lake Powell, Arizona

We spent Saturday driving from the prairies of Colorado, through Denver and the Rockies, and all the way down through Utah. The changes in scenery were just amazing, and the landscape in Utah is almost beyond description.

Today we went to church in Page, Arizona (though we got there an hour early as Arizona doesn’t use daylight savings time. After a very friendly service we headed over to Lake Powell. It’s really rather incongruous, this enormous man-made lake in the middle of the desert, but it is run very well by the National Parks Folks.

We went on a boat trip up a few canyons looking at the amazing patterns made on the walls (and having a bit of a snooze if truth be told!)

Tomorrow it’s off to the Grand Canyon.
