Tonight was the end of season Swimming Banquet for the Southington Stingrays, held at The Aqua Turf. It’s a lovely place but unfortunately the room we were in had very low ceilings (too low for the screens I brought to show a slide show of the season. Thankfully a very nice chap dug up a couple of screens which did the trick.

It was a very well run event which flowed nice and quickly (some of these things seem to go on for ever!). It’s funny seeing all the kids in their street clothes.

I would be remiss if I didn’t thank Coach Kristen and Coach Meghan for doing a wonderful job this season – Thanks!

Earlierin the week (Sunday to be precise) we had a meeting at church where the kids chose their destination for the J2A pilgrimage in Summer 2007. We are heading off to Iona (the island and abbey, not the daughter!). It’s a big trip for a lot of the kids who haven’t been out of the country before and should be a great experience for everyone involved (I was invited to be a chaperone – I think that they just wanted someone who could interpret for the natives!)
