It's all good

There is a lot of excitement our there in the world of mobile devices this week.

The Palm Pre just arrived on Verizon (shame, because if they had managed to get it there before the Droid, I would have been all over it, I am a huge fan and am still trying to figure out how to justify having two phones!)

Now, everyone is holding their breath to see what will happen on Wednesday with Apples big announcement, the possibility of a matching one from Verizon and more.  Rumours include the long awaited Applet Tablet (iTablet, iSlate, or whatever they are going to call it), Apple and Verizon working together, and much more.

Google Goggles

This is very cool.  Using my Droid (or another phone running Android) I can take a picture of something and Google will work out what it is and give me lots of information about it.

I already use Shop Savvy which will take a picture of a barcode, identify the product and then give the best local (based on GPS) and web based pricing.

Geeking out in Maryland

This morning, Ken, Richard, and I were presenting in Baltimore, however, before that I had to make a quick stop at the Verizon store in Bel Air… at 6:30 in the morning.

The reason for standing out in the cold before the store even opened?

Verizon-Motorola Droid!
The new Verizon-Motorola Droid!

It’s a very cool phone running Google’s Android operating system (a variant of Linux).

It’s very cool (and Iona is very jealous!)
