Travel Adventures with Siraya

Siraya sitting on snow tube

Siraya playing with a ball on the ground

I may be (slightly) less available that normal this week as Michele, Siraya, and I are searching out a little warmth!  Having shoveled 33 inches of snow, I feel like we deserve it!

It was our first time on a plane with Siraya since she was a baby (and that was an experience noone on the plane will forget!) and so the first since she’s been using a wheelchair.

Overall it was a remarkably easy trip […]

Electronic Billing :: Make sure that you upload your 835s

Graphic showing 5010 Electronic Billing

If the title of this post doesn’t make any sense to you, you probably don’t do any electronic Medicaid billing.

If you do, you will know that when you do electronic billing through Therap, the file that we send off on your behalf is called an 837.

Once you claim has been processed you will then receive back another file called an 835.

Probably the most important muber in the 835 is the TCN (in some states it is called an ICN) number.  This is the number assigned by your Medicaid processor to your claim.  By having this number we can then directly link the claim you have in Therap to the claim Medicaid […]

Making the move to Liveperson for Therap Live Help

HomeAs I have written about before, we have been looking around for the best way to replace our current Live Help system. The one we built a few years ago is showing signs of age and given that we want to give as much priority as we can to system functionality and stability, we decided to take a look out there and see if anyone could meet our needs.

Interestingly, most companies who supply Live Help software just couldn’t cope with our need for HIPAA compliance (which we tend to take a significantly stricter stand on than a lot of folks do).

However, we did find a couple who could and have now made […]

Therap 9.1 Release Date is now July 24th, 2011

Graphic showing Therap version 9.1 is coming soon

In order to give you the highest quality release possible, we are resscheduling Therap 9.1 to July 24th.  This means that the date for getting all your IDFs into in-prep or Approved status is now July 23rd.

We are also rescheduling the webinars previewing these new features (though you can watch a recording of the Single Provider one here at any time).

Rather than doing these as live webinars, I will be recording them and sending out a link to anyone who singed up

Allergy Profiles in Therap 9.1

As well as all the amazing unification functionality in Therap 9.1, we will also be taking our next step towards CCHIT Compliance.

Currently, allergies are listed in a text box.  In Therap 9.1 (if you have subscribed to our First DataBank live drug database) you get all sorts of new features.

Firstly, allergies are now listed individually and can be picked from the First DataBank list.

Now, when you add a new medication, it will tell you if there is a reaction between that medication and an allergy or that medication and another medication already being taken!

T-Log enhancements in Therap 8.15

When Therap 8.15 comes out this weekend, there will be a number of new features including the following one for T-Logs that a lot of people have been asking for (especially Jeff and Frank!)

You will now have the option to turn on Start and End Times for T-Logs (in Provider Preferences)

and if you do, your staff will be able to record just that:

Tomorrow we should have the full release notes for you (be sure to read closely, especially if you use billing in Florida, Delaware, Colorado, […]

The 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act

There were numbers of festivities going on yesterday to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ADA.  Like most of you I suspect, I can’t imagine a public building being built in a manner that excludes people with disabilities or not having kids with disabilities have full access to education and employment.

It’s not that long ago that this was not the case, and we can’t afford to rest now.
Just the other day I was taking Siraya to a doctor’s appointment that she would have been unable to attend on her own as there was no way for a person in a wheelchair to open the front door to the “Professional Building”.  For an “end user” perspective […]

Some Therap Points Clarifications

Therap Points Program

As expected, now that folks are getting into the Therap Points Program (we’re really excited about how many people are signing up, participating and taking advantage of this opportunity) we’re learning things and working out a few kinks in the system (it’s very similar to developing a new module).

So here are a few things to remember:

  1. You can’t claim points for something you earned as a reward.  So, if we covered your expenses at a conference, that’s not something you can earn points at (just like you don’t earn airline miles on a reward flight)
  2. You can’t claim points for things you did before you were in […]

Friday in Tallahassee, Florida

Justin in Florida.

After yesterday’s excitement I finally made it down to Tallahassee for some meetings with Joe and Sue.

Great meetings and delightful weather, and even time for Joe to give us a quick run around his hometown.

Now back to the cold and wet of New England
