Ken and I are in Alexandria, Virginia for the NASDDDS (National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disability Services) Annual Conference.

Having just released Therap for States, it’s a great chance to catch up with our state customers and meet a few more!

Be sure to stop by our booth if you are there, you’ll see the video above on the big screen.

Another Great Day in Washington, DC

This really has been a tremendous trip.  It’s amazing how impressive (and well behaved) 40 or so teenagers can be.

After the band played at the Lincoln Memorial yesterday and we toured all the usual monuments (my new favourite is the Albert Einstein statue) we were thoroughly entertained by a performance of Shear Madness at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Today it was the Show Choir’s turn, after a tour of the Capitol  and some of the Smithsonian, we headed out to visit with George Washington at Mount Vernon where the choir performed a fine selection of show tunes.

Here’s a few photos:

The Brockies go to DC

Michele, Iona, Calum and I are heading to (a very hot) Washington, DC for the Wolcott High School band summer trip.

We’ll be down there seeing the sights and even performing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial (to be completely factual, I’ll be watching, the band will be playing)
While I hope to get some photos and blog posts up, if you need anything before Monday, please contact one of my colleagues or call the office.

Tuesday in DC with an iPad

Today I was in Washington with Ken for some meetings. While just sitting around with my iPad I get the sense that it is very cute and all, but I don’t quite see the practical implications.

Today, however, I did. Firstly, it’s very like Therap, it’s just cool. So a bunch of people said “poo is that an iPad” and wanted to play with it. It never hurts to catch people’s attention.

The second use was les obvious. We were in a meeting where there really wasn’t room to set up a projector. I was able to put the iPad down on the table and everyone could watch my demo.

Finally, I am writing this on the […]

Monday in Washington, DC

Justin in Washingon DCWashingon DC

The lengths that I will go to to get a picture of me an a Capitol  this one involved Ken and me taking our lives in our hands and getting some amused comments from passers by.  Do you get bonuses for the Big One?

As you may have guessed, I spent today in Washington DC, with Ken (it’s becoming a bit of a Monday thing!).

With more and more DC agencies using Therap, it’s becoming a better place all the time!

Wednesday in the nations capital

Ken and I spent Wednesday working with the folks at St John’s Community Services in Washington DC, getting them up and running on Therap.

If I didn’t have to get from one part of it to another, I would be a huge fan of DC!

Ken is putting together a nice group of DC providers to which St John’s are going to make a fine addition.  It’s always a good thing when you can get a group together who are all operating under the same rules.

Start of a rather busy week

Last night as the final night of Wolcott High School’s spring musical “Once Upon A Mattress”.  What a great show!  I am always amazed at the talent that our small town produces.  Added to this was the fun of getting to watch Iona (on her oboe) and Calum (on his trumpet) performing in an wonderful pit orchestra.  Just a few students, combined with staff, alumni, and some hired guns.

As I write, I am on the train from BWI airport in Baltimore to Union Station in Washington, DC when I am joining Sue and Ken for a couple of meetings.

After that I am heading out to Cape Code (via Providence, RI) where tomorrow I will […]
