Today was the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup.  Hearts scraped through 2-1 against Second Division Partick Thistle.

The cup is a bit like March Madness only more so.  All the clubs are allowed in and some years (like this one) you end up with lower league teams in the final stages.

Gretna (only four years in the Scottish League) beat St Mirren to Join Hearts, Hibs, and either Dundee  or Hamilton in the semi finals.  This is a bit having some Division 2 school make it to the final four!

What is particularly wild is that Hearts and Hibs (the other Edinburgh team) are the two big teams left.  I’m just not sure if I want to face Hibs in the final.  While it would be the biggest game I could ever imagine and winning it would be undescribable, I am not sure if I could survive Hibs winning their first Scottish Cup in 104 years by beating us!

For now we will just have to wait until Monday for the semi final draw.
