I have talked to various people across upstate New York down through Long Island. I commend everyone for having high spirits despite having to run on generators, cleaning up damage and operating on skeleton work crews and shifts. I was to have several functions this week on long Island and all have been cancelled based on the above situations. For 28 years the Queens Family Support conference has brought together more than 800 families and professionals supporting people with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. This Friday, November 2nd the annual conference is themed “Bridge to Fulfillment”. Like everything else it is having to be rescheduled. I know it was a difficult decision since so much work has been put into it, but there remains too many unknown variables. Will be looking for it down the road.
