Over the weekend, both houses of the State Legislature restored the cut to the voluntary not for profit developmental disabilities sector. The cut was restored in the Senate and Assembly one house budget measures. As you are well aware, the 2013-14 State Budget remains subject to negotiation between the two houses and the Governor. Three-way negotiations have commenced and will continue. The budget is on a “fast-track” this year given the Passover and Easter holidays during the week of March 25th. Many in Albany believe the enacted budget will be in place prior to the March 25th holiday recess of the State Legislature.
