Disabled Medicaid Beneficiaries File Lawsuit over unexplained Medicaid Home Care Cuts. On July 15, 2014, the New York Times reported on a lawsuit brought by the New York Legal Assistance Group against the Department of Health and the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance for allegedly denying or cutting Medicaid home care services to chronically ill or disabled Medicaid beneficiaries, despite the fact that these services are required by law. The lawsuit also charges state officials with letting these service cuts occur without giving beneficiaries the opportunity to appeal.
