Therap’s Special Information on Federal Joint Report

The most recent report, Ensuring Beneficiary Health and Safety on Group Homes Through State Implementation of Comprehensive Compliance Oversight, released in January 2018 jointly by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG), Administration for Community Living (ACL) and Office for Civil Rights (OCR), mentions instances at various states where serious lapses have occurred. OIG, ACL and OCR report the following findings:

  • failed to ensure that group homes reported all critical incidents,
    failed to ensure that all critical incidents reported by group homes were properly recorded,
  • failed to ensure that group homes always reported incidents at the correct severity level,

What you need to know about the ISP Report Update

With the recent update to the ISP report module, non-reportable scores will be displayed in the Data Collection Monthly report generated from ISP Reports or from the Individual Home Page. With this change it will be quick and easy to check that staff did documentation for that person, even if it resulted in a non-reportable score.

Keep in mind that the report will only show the first score collected for the day and so reportable scores will have precedence over non-reportable ones.
