Webinar on Keeping Track of Fee For Service in New Jersey, March 6, 2018

Join our upcoming webinar on Keeping Track of Fee For Service in New Jersey on March 6 from 11 AM to 12 PM EST. New Jersey’s conversion to the FFS model of reimbursement has presented challenges for providers and Therap. FFS requires a method of documentation the NJ providers have not used in the past. Therap’s workflow approach facilitates the development and auditing of FFS claims. In addition Therap created a unique rounding factor for DCFS, produced a feature to manage multiple NPI number, produced a feature to manage a variety of Prior Authorization approaches, facilitated the Medicaid eligibility process and responded to other factors that impacted the complex claiming process.

Therap’s workflow approach to billing allows providers to track the billing process from Prior Authorization, to service delivery, to utilization tracking, to claim submission, and reconciliation in a timely and easy to track procedure.

Developmental Disability Providers Use Therap Software to Track Community-Based Employment

Therap’s Employment Tracking Tool Provides a Comprehensive Summary of Employment Services

Therap supports state-specific and national initiatives focused increasingly on community-based supports, less intensive support models, and helping individuals achieve gainful employment. Therap’s web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution has expanded its tools available in recognition of comprehensive employment and community-based services.

Intellectual and developmental disability providers and other Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) agencies use Therap’s Employment module and affiliated tools to track a range of related supports and documentation, from eligibility and referral to assessment, intake and creation of the employment plan, to point-of-contact service documentation, job-training and milestone completion, to name a few. With Therap’s Job Bank-Employer Database, employment support specialists may maintain an accurate history of an individual’s work experience and job details, and quickly search employers in the community matching desired career field, hours, job qualifications, or skills needed using a maintained directory. Plans are fully developed and target milestones including 30/60/90 day secured employment reviews can be added and noted complete. Job coaching and employment service hours can be linked to service authorizations for direct billing to Medicaid, third-parties or manual claiming.

Providers of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services utilize Therap’s employment features to capture all necessary data for state-specific VR forms through comprehensive reports and export features, and they can analyze total service hours spent to reach an individual’s goals. With comprehensive reporting through the employment tools, an agency can identify at any time which individuals are on a particular milestone, or how much staffing hours were utilized to achieve said milestone.

Therap Java Fest 2012 a Success!

We hosted an online Java Festival, titled ‘Therap Java Fest’ for university students all over the country. Our main objective was to bring out the talent in the field of programming and interest them to explore the world of possibilities that Java opens up for them.

The festival comprised of various activities designed to develop and assess the development (programming) skills of the participants. Throughout the contest, a group of Therap programmers assisted the participants with feedback and answers to participants’ questions through a forum, and also provided useful learning materials.

The festival was structured so as to give its participants a taste of a full software development lifecyle. Interested participants registered individually and took a preliminary screening test designed to evaluate their basic programming skills. The selected participants then formed groups of two members for developing either a java web application or an android-based project. Each group submitted a project proposal and then implemented that idea. After the Therap Java Fest team evaluated the projects, top ranked participants were invited for a live demonstration of their projects at the GDLN Conference Room at BRAC University on November 14, 2012.

The winners were :

1st Prize: Appointment Manager

An online appointment manager, by Team ‘Three By Zero’. The members of the team were Rafi Kamal and Md. Shamim Hasnath, both from BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology).

2nd Prize: Hutbazar

An online mega shop by Team ‘Void’. The members of the team were Shihab Rahman and Rifatul Islam, both from University of Dhaka.

3rd Prize: Buddy Tracker

An Android application for tracking friends, by Team ‘BUET Barebones’. The members of the team were A.T.M Saleh and Md. Maksud Alam Chowdhury, both from BUET.”

All the projects that made the finals were awesome and the festival was a success! We hope to organize more such events in future to help increase Java awareness among young talents.

We would like to thank BRAC University, BRAC University Computer Club (BUCC) and the volunteers for helping us successfully complete the finale of Therap Java Fest by providing us with the use of their facilities and continuous support. Their contribution was critical and vital to the successful conclusion of Therap Java Fest. Lastly, here are a few photos from the finale:

Our Training and Implementation Team just got bigger. The newest member is Jordan Mar from Kansas City, Missouri. She will be working at our mid-west office with Chris & Jeff.

Jordan has been supporting people with disabilities from her high school days at the Lincoln Northeast High where she took care of an elementary school kid with special needs during her lunchtime, twice a week. After graduation she moved to Utah and stated working for the Dan Peterson school for children with special needs. During that time she also worked for Rise providing in-home support for children and adults with special needs. She also helped run a summer program for Rise and did respite care on the weekends.

During college days, Jordan worked in public schools as an early childhood special education paraprofessional, with 3-5 year olds with autism and other developmental disabilities. Later on she participated in a Management Training Program through Developmental Services of Nebraska. She also helped at two group homes in Nebraska; one was a home for young boys with autism and the other for men considered to be high risk to the community.

After completion of the program, Jordan moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she was the Residential Supervisor for five homes in the Kansas City area.

Jordan went to the University of Nebraska to pursue a degree in education. She is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education through the distance education program offered by the University of Nebraska.
