Therap Celebrates 10 Years Supporting California DDS Providers

Software Documentation Suite for Providers Serving People with Intellectual Disabilities Includes Billing, Employment, Health, and Goal Outcomes

Kevin Dierks, Therap Regional Director-Pacific Rim, said “Therap is pleased to announce a major milestone in our long history. We have been providing EHR services to California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) agencies to better serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for 10 years.”

In California, Therap supports documentation records of over 20,000 individuals with developmental disabilities who receive services from over 100 Regional Center Vendors. Over 25,000 California users login to Therap to document daily services and supports and meet recording requirements.

Therap helps meet documentation requirements for California Title 17 regarding Early Intervention Services and Community Services as well as Title 22 requirements for the California Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division. Therap also helps Developmental Disabilities vendor agencies meet California State and Regional Center requirements.

Dierks added, “In fact, we are working directly with DDS and Regional Centers to improve and track Special Incident Reports (SIR). Over half a million data record entries are being documented in Therap every month in California. Intellectual disabilities providers are tracking individual outcomes and progress on Individual Program Plans (IPP) and Individual Service Plans (ISP) goals. Therap is aligned with the goals of CMS and the policy changes happening across California.”

Therap supports the full spectrum of service models in place across all 21 California Regional Centers, including Independent Living Supports (ILS), Supported Living Supports (SLS), Community and Supported Employment, Adult and Child Foster Care, Residential and Respite, Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) and Medically Fragile Care.

Therap helps Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) agencies improve the quality of their documentation, communication, and outcomes for the people they support. Developmental Disabilities software features include Individual Program Plans (IPP), Individual Service Programs (ISP), and Special Incident Reports (SIR).

Therap meets California’s ISP standards. On Therap, the individual program planning process is digitized and secured electronically and captures daily service data entered by staff members.

Therap’s Incident reporting tool meets California’s SIR requirements defined by the Department of Developmental Services and allows for users to submit state specific forms including the California Initial Report, California Follow-up Report, and California Medication Error Report.

Therap National Conference QA tools Presentation: User Presentation, 2016 Therap National Conference

Josh-Dezurik-form-Dungarvin,-MN-151112Like most companies using Therap, Dungarvin spent a tremendous amount of time and effort rolling out Therap. However, once Therap was rolled out to the programs, there was a question of what do we do with this massive amount of information that we are collecting each day. There are countless reports that can be reviewed, but there is only so much time in the day and the sophistication level of each user varies greatly. To tackle this issue Dungarvin began developing a Quality Dashboard using Therap data to monitor key service elements. This Dashboard tool has now been largely completed and Dungarvin is starting to see the effect of leveraging the information. This session will cover the Dungarvin Quality Dashboard tools and demonstrate the ability to meet the needs of a diverse audience while still producing actionable results for multiple organizational levels. Additionally Dungarvin and Therap began a partnership to develop these tools on the Therap Business Intelligence platform. With this joint venture these tools can also be a window into what the business intelligence tool will provide. You’ve already spent the time entering the information into Therap, now see what insights this information can provide through analytics.

This session will provide a quick overview/explanation of the tools as well as time for Q & A.

Schedules Module in Therap: User Presentation, 2016 Therap National Conference

Angelique-McCain-&-Brian-Roussin-from-Life-Works,-NY-151102Do you want to minimize risk in Federal audits by having an accurate and paperless record of staff schedules? This training goes over how to set up the schedules module at your agency.

Angie & Brian will be doing an overview of the schedules module and how our agency uses the Therap calendar for all schedule communication. They will also set up templates and weekly schedules and show how to track hours across the agency and not just by program. The fact that this schedule is paperless has been a great benefit to our agency and especially for our behavior homes.
