Information sharing & discussions on Therap SIGs

Have you checked out our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) yet? We have set these up to have focused discussions on these issues –

Quality Assurance

These interactive spaces are a powerful tool of communication. They allow us to learn about what you need, share information on new regulations and practices, discuss the best use of available tools, and figure out what we need to do next. Here are a couple of examples of productive discussions taking place on Therap SIGs –

We will be posting a new question every week to initiate discussions and get your views on different issues. They are placed prominently on top of each SIG page so you will not be missing them.

Therap Special Interest Groups Just Got Better!

We are happy to inform you that we have redesigned our Special Interest Group (SIG) pages to have a fresh look and feel that you will find more functional and easy to use.

We have transferred all existing users and posts to this new site so you don’t need to worry about reopening accounts or reorganizing the content.

Here are some of the things you need to know about the new SIGs –

Separate page for each SIG

In the new design, each SIG (Nursing & EHR, Mobile Documentation and Quality Assurance) is hosted on a separate page. You can access them at:

Nursing & EHR SIG
https://www.therapservices.net/health-sig/
Quality Assurance SIG
https://www.therapservices.net/quality-sig/
Mobile Documentation SIG
https://www.therapservices.net/mobile-sig/

You can still access them all from the old SIG page at
https://www.therapservices.net/sig/

Loggin in and Posting

Even though the SIGs have been separated, you don’t have to log in separately for each of them. Logging in once will give you access to all the SIGs you have joined.

You can use the following links to get to your login screen:

Nursing & EHR SIG
https://www.therapservices.net/health-sig/wp-admin
Quality Assurance SIG
https://www.therapservices.net/quality-sig/wp-admin
Mobile Documentation SIG
https://www.therapservices.net/mobile-sig/wp-admin

You can also use the old SIG login link –
https://www.therapservices.net/sig/wp-admin

To get to a particular SIG from here, just find the My Sites tab on the top bar which will show you the list of SIG sites you have access to. Move your mouse over the SIG you want to post in and then click on ‘New Post’ on the sub menu.

You can get further instructions on how to post in Therap SIG here –
https://www.therapservices.net/sig/posting-in-a-therap-sig/

Category selection

You no longer need to select a SIG as a category to indicate where your posts should go to. Once you login and post in a SIG, the posts are set for those SIGs automatically.

You however, can choose to publish your post in other SIGs and/or the Certified Trainers’ Blog (provided you are a member of those) by selecting them in the Multipost box.

Facebook Share Button on Posts

In the new version of the SIGs, there will be Facebook share buttons on your posts.

Question of the week

We will be posting a new question every week to initiate discussions and get your views on different issues. They will be placed prominently on top of each SIG page so you will not be missing them.

sig_question_of_the_week

So log on to our Special Interest Groups now and try these new features for yourself. Let us know if you have comments or suggestions on how we can enhance them further.

Medicaid Audits and Quality Assurance

Medicaid audit is a quality control procedure carried out to ensure that particular services are being provided in accordance with federal and state regulations and that the documentation and billing practices demonstrates accuracy and integrity. During audits, providers are faced with a number of difficulties such as reporting decentralized service delivery and locating necessary documentation, ensuring quality and accuracy of documented information, exceeding service authorizations or failing to maximize utilization. Having a bad audit results in the loss of revenue for providers and more importantly, loss of valuable services for individuals.

Therap users go through audit with minimal, if any problems. This is because:

Service authorizations specifying services, unit rate, total amounts and expiration date are saved electronically along with a scanned copy of the original document from the State.

Service hours from program attendance records and ISP outcome tracking data are immediately reported against appropriate service authorizations.

Billing data can be easily traced back to service authorizations, and service plans.

Utilization management reports can be created to track average usage and remaining balance.

Online alerts and text messages are issued when service authorizations are about to expire or exceed given limits.

All these information is readily available online, within just a few clicks or taps. As a user once put it, – “(with Therap) you would have to ignore a lot of information to have a bad audit”.
