We have found the GERs helpful for recording falls and monitoring for trends. We are interested in hearing about how other agencies record the assessment for injury within Therap.
Appreciate any feedback!

Hi Bonnie – In NM we require agencies to use the GER to record falls (with or without injury). We use the Injury GER type for all falls (with or without injury). For Injury Type if there is no injury they select “other” then type in none. Then they can choose “fall” for Injury cause. This makes it easy to run reports on falls and see how many incurred injuries or not.
Originally we had people using the Injury form for falls with injury and the Other form for falls without. But then they “other” event type was “other” and we had people typing in fall. This was a little clunky and didn’t result in very consistent data to pull for reporting/trending. So while it seems a bit counter-intuitive to report a fall with no injury on the injury form – it really does end up working better to see all of the falls in one place.
Hope that helps.
