I have discovered this week that one of our agency’s is not able to effectively put Laboratory appointments into Therap. When I took a look at the Appointment module with them, we noticed that you can only lookup Consultants or Hospitals. We have a number of individuals who have their lab work done at an actual laboratory, which is a separate location and usually a separate date and time. These laboratories were entered into the Shared Contacts as a Laboratory.
The agency is currently putting the laboratory in as a Specialist, and choosing them in the lookup for Consultant.
Has anyone found a better way to do this in the Appointments module?
We have put our labs in with the “first” and “last” name as Lab. That way all the labs show up in a row. We did this just in case staff forget the name of the lab. They could also use it as a list for suggestion, for another lab, if the they are wanting to find a different one for some reason. Hope this helps.
