Kevin Dierks is currently working as the Therap Regional Director- Pacific Rim. He joined Therap’s Business Team in 2009. He has worked supporting people with developmental disabilities and the communities and systems since 1990. His experience has taken him from the front lines of program delivery to program management and systems change. He has been involved in National, Federal, State and community level public research and initiatives involving public health, disability, technology, and human services.

Robin Forbes is a Training & Implementation Specialist here at Therap Services. She joined the Therap Services West Team in 2018. She has over 25 years of experience working in the I-DD field in Delaware and Colorado. She began her career in this field as a DSP and worked her way up through management and oversight of residential, day program, employment and community services. Robin received a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Health Care Administration in 1999 from Wilmington College.

California North Bay User Group Meeting

Join our upcoming California North Bay User Group Meeting on September 18, 2019. In California, Therap directly works with DDS, Regional Centers, and hundreds of Vendors. Therap also supports the service models in place across California Regional Centers, including Independent Living Supports (ILS), Supported Living Services (SLS), Community and Supported Employment and more. Therap works with both large and small providers, as well as families and self-advocates.

The user group is hosted and conducted onsite at an agency using Therap. All Therap users in California are invited to attend any of the scheduled meetings.

About the presenters:

Brent Hessee is a Business Development Consultant at Therap. He began working in the developmental disability field as a Direct Support Professional and has worked in multiple facets of an organization including Supported Living Services and Residential Services.

Stan Higgins is a Business Development Consultant at Therap. He has been working in the Developmental Disability field since 1998 and has worked in agencies that provide Supported Living, Independent Living, Day Program, Transportation, Residential, Job Placement and Recreation services for adults.

User Group Meeting for the Users in Hawaii

Join our upcoming Hawaii User Group meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at 10:00 AM (HST). The user group will be led by our Therap expert Kevin Dierks. He will walk you through modules and answer questions that you might have.

Therap has been supporting service provider agencies in Hawaii since 2007, and to date over one thousand individuals with disabilities and seniors in Hawaii have been supported by an agency that uses Therap’s Electronic Documentation and Communication tools, and over one thousand staff have been trained to use the system successfully. This includes the full spectrum of services in Hawaii meeting State requirements and increasing quality and operational efficiency.

Only One Week Remaining for Regional Conference in Fresno, California

Join our upcoming Regional Conference in Fresno, California on July 30, 2019. The conference is going to be a one-day event by Therap experts and a chance to network with your counterparts from across the state.

Therap has been supporting community service provider agencies and vendors in California since 2006. Therap’s electronic documentation and communication tools include the full spectrum of services in California from Independent Living Services (ILS) to Residential and ICF services.

About the presenters:

Joshua Corzantes is a Senior Training & Implementation Specialist and joined Therap in 2014. Prior to that, he worked for 11 years in the field of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  He had also used Therap’s software for a year as a Provider Administrator and gained a vast knowledge of the application.

Jeremy Gibson is a Training Specialist at Therap. He began his career in the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD) field in 2011 as a Direct Care employee for an agency. Prior to joining Therap, he had planned and executed agency-wide training and worked closely with the agency’s trainers. He also worked in a QA role previously and assisted with ensuring health and safety standards were met for CARF accreditation.

Therap National Conference 2020 – Call for Presentations

Therap National Conference 2020 will be held on January 28-30 at Denver, Colorado. We are offering an opportunity to Therap users who are interested in presenting either in a seminar/tutorial or panel discussion format at the event on topics that may interest your agency. Therap users can also include surveyors, families, state caseworkers or others who are interacting with agencies using Therap.

Previous presentations included:

  • Getting to buy in for Therap at your agency
  • Using mobile devices
  • Addressing quality assurance standards
  • Discussion on how your agency uses specific modules

Multiple individuals can apply to present jointly by August 31, 2019. Please note that multiple individuals presenting jointly will get one free registration (Regular Registration, without Evening Night).

Regional Conference in Anchorage, Alaska

Jody Traina is a Senior Training and Implementation Specialist at Therap. He began working in the field of supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities from 1999. Jody was also a coordinator for a supported living program at The Arc of King County in Seattle.

Dawn Gilder is a Billing Specialist at Therap. Prior to joining Therap, Dawn worked for more than seven years at an ICF-ID in Nevada, providing administrative and computer support. She was responsible for the training and implementation of Therap for all departments of the organization with T Logs, eMAR, and Billing.

Kristen Staiert is a Customer Support Specialist at Therap. Prior to joining Therap, she worked for AmeriServe International as a Day Habilitation Service Program Coordinator in Council Bluff at Iowa for six years. Moreover, she has worked with children and adults with disabilities since 2002.
