User Group Meeting for Users in California

User group meeting for users in California is coming to an area near you soon! The user group meeting is scheduled to be hosted at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Diego – Mission Valley on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM (PST). There is no cost associated with this meeting. The user group will be hosted and conducted onsite at the DSN Annual Meeting in San Diego.

Know the hosts:

Stan Higgins joined Therap in 2018 as a Business Development Consultant. He has worked in the Developmental Disability field since 1998. Stan served as the Executive Director of an agency in Sonoma County, CA which provided Supported Living, Independent Living, Day Program, Transportation, Residential, Job Placement and Recreation services for adults.

Brent Hessee joined Therap in 2011. He began working in the field as a Direct Support Professional and has worked in multiple facets of an organization for 10 years. Brent began his career at Therap as a Training and Implementation Specialist. He has trained over 15,000 people on how to effectively implement Therap at their organization and has witnessed the positive effect that Therap can have in the transformation of an agency.

Kevin Dierks is currently working as the Therap Regional Director- Pacific Rim. He joined Therap’s Business Team in 2009. He has worked supporting people with developmental disabilities and the communities and systems since 1990. His experience has taken him from the front lines of program delivery to program management and systems change. He has been involved in National, Federal, State and community level public research and initiatives involving public health, disability, technology, and human services.

Robin Forbes is a Training & Implementation Specialist here at Therap Services. She joined the Therap Services West Team in 2018. She has over 25 years of experience working in the I-DD field in Delaware and Colorado. She began her career in this field as a DSP and worked her way up through management and oversight of residential, day program, employment and community services. Robin received a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Health Care Administration in 1999 from Wilmington College.

California North Bay User Group Meeting

Join our upcoming California North Bay User Group Meeting on September 18, 2019. In California, Therap directly works with DDS, Regional Centers, and hundreds of Vendors. Therap also supports the service models in place across California Regional Centers, including Independent Living Supports (ILS), Supported Living Services (SLS), Community and Supported Employment and more. Therap works with both large and small providers, as well as families and self-advocates.

The user group is hosted and conducted onsite at an agency using Therap. All Therap users in California are invited to attend any of the scheduled meetings.

Therap National Conference 2020

Therap National Conference brings together Therap team along with users from all over the United States under one roof. At this event, you will get the chance to meet, exchange ideas and experiences with people from various agencies across the country.

California User Group

Join our upcoming California User Group meeting on June 26, 2019 at 1 pm (PDT).  All Therap Users in California are invited to attend the meetings. Therap helps agencies improve the quality of their documentation, communication, and outcomes for the people they support. In California, Therap also helps Developmental Disabilities vendor agencies meet California State and Regional Center requirements.

What is a user group?
A user group is a group of Therap users in the same state or area who meet to troubleshoot, network, discuss state and Regional issues, and learn about the newest Therap releases. It is an open forum to check in with Therap and learn from and share with other Therap Users in your area. They also can contain training on any portion of Therap’s system.  There is no cost associated with these groups. They are hosted and conducted onsite at an agency using Therap.

State Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico

We are very happy to announce the New Mexico state conference in Albuquerque for 2019. The conference is scheduled on May 21-22, 2019 at the Isleta Resort & Casino. It is going to be one and a half day event of sessions by New Mexico Therap experts and a chance to network with your counterparts from across the state.

The event will be a good place to learn about recent developments in the Therap system, as well as individual support documentation and reporting, electronic health records (EHR) and training management from the technology leader in the developmental disabilities field. The training intensive event will include beginner, intermediate, and advanced level sessions conducted by Therap experts on various Therap modules.

Know the hosts:

Calvin Christensen joined Therap in 2014. He is a Business Development Consultant here at Therap. He began working in the mental health and developmental disabilities field in 2010. Calvin worked for an agency in Nebraska who provided services to adults who were considered high risk. Through this experience, Calvin gained a true understanding of how to provide services to individuals in the least restrictive environment possible.

Sarah Christiansen is currently a Senior Training & Implementation Specialist at Therap Services. Sarah Christiansen joined the Therap team as a Training Specialist in 2015. She has been working in the DD and Mental Health field since 2009. What drew Sarah to the human services field was the opportunity to help people find and explore their passions and enjoy the best quality of life possible.

Deborah Hibbard Brito is a Senior State Training & Implementation Specialist here at Therap. she has had a unique path to joining Therap Services. She began working in the Mental Health field in 1995 after graduating from Houghton College, NY with a Bachelors of Science degree with a major in Outdoor Recreation and Camp Administration and a minor in Psychology.
