California Billing User Group

This electronic billing service assists provider agencies to create and send claims for the services provided to individuals. Hawaii User Group

Less than two weeks remaining for our upcoming “Hawaii User Group”! The event has been scheduled on June 23, 2020 at 10:00 AM (Hawaii Time). This online user group will be very enlightening with our adept members of Therap Services team, Calvin Christensen, Kevin Dierks, Jody Traina, Seanette Lancaster, Robin Forbes, and Dawn Gilder.

Therap has been supporting service provider agencies in Hawaii since 2007. To date over one thousand individuals with disabilities and seniors in Hawaii have been supported by an agency that uses Therap’s Electronic Documentation and Communication tools, and over one thousand staff have been trained to use the system successfully. This includes the full spectrum of services in Hawaii meeting State requirements and increasing quality and operational efficiency.

Oregon User Group

Therap is pleased to invite all Oregon users to the upcoming Oregon User Group. This online user group is scheduled to be held on 20th May, 2020 at 9:30 AM (PDT). Therap experts, Stan Higgins and Seanette Lancaster, will be the hosts of this online session.

Stan Higgins is Therap’s Business Development Consultant at present. He has been fulfilling this role since 2018. Stan has 22 years of professional experience working in the Developmental Disabilities sector. His past professional roles include CA in Supported Living, Day Program, Independent Living, Transportation, Job Placement, Residential and Recreation services for adults as well as Executive Director for an agency in Sonoma County. 

Seanette Lancaster is currently the Senior Training & Implementation Specialist at Therap Services. In prior to joining Therap, she had acquired more than a decade of experience as a Billing Coder/Specialist. Seanette has past professional experience working in Developmental Disability Programs in the state of Oregon.

User group meeting for users in California is coming to an area near you soon! The user group meeting is scheduled to be hosted at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Diego – Mission Valley on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM (PST). Stan Higgins joined Therap in 2018 as a Business Development Consultant. He has worked in the Developmental Disability field since 1998. Stan served as the Executive Director of an agency in Sonoma County, CA which provided Supported Living, Independent Living, Day Program, Transportation, Residential, Job Placement and Recreation services for adults.

Brent Hessee joined Therap in 2011. He began working in the field as a Direct Support Professional and has worked in multiple facets of an organization for 10 years. Brent began his career at Therap as a Training and Implementation Specialist. He has trained over 15,000 people on how to effectively implement Therap at their organization and has witnessed the positive effect that Therap can have in the transformation of an agency.

Therap National Conference 2020 – Call for Presentations

Therap National Conference 2020 will be held on January 28-30 at Denver, Colorado. We are offering an opportunity to Therap users who are interested in presenting either in a seminar/tutorial or panel discussion format at the event on topics that may interest your agency. Therap users can also include surveyors, families, state caseworkers or others who are interacting with agencies using Therap.

Previous presentations included:

State Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico

We are very happy to announce the New Mexico state conference in Albuquerque for 2019. The conference is scheduled on May 21-22, 2019 at the Isleta Resort & Casino. It is going to be one and a half day event of sessions by New Mexico Therap experts and a chance to network with your counterparts from across the state.

The event will be a good place to learn about recent developments in the Therap system, as well as individual support documentation and reporting, electronic health records (EHR) and training management from the technology leader in the developmental disabilities field. The training intensive event will include beginner, intermediate, and advanced level sessions conducted by Therap experts on various Therap modules.

Know the hosts:

Calvin Christensen joined Therap in 2014. He is a Business Development Consultant here at Therap. He began working in the mental health and developmental disabilities field in 2010. Calvin worked for an agency in Nebraska who provided services to adults who were considered high risk. Through this experience, Calvin gained a true understanding of how to provide services to individuals in the least restrictive environment possible.

Sarah Christiansen is currently a Senior Training & Implementation Specialist at Therap Services. Sarah Christiansen joined the Therap team as a Training Specialist in 2015. She has been working in the DD and Mental Health field since 2009. What drew Sarah to the human services field was the opportunity to help people find and explore their passions and enjoy the best quality of life possible.

Deborah Hibbard Brito is a Senior State Training & Implementation Specialist here at Therap. she has had a unique path to joining Therap Services. She began working in the Mental Health field in 1995 after graduating from Houghton College, NY with a Bachelors of Science degree with a major in Outdoor Recreation and Camp Administration and a minor in Psychology.
