User Group Meeting for Users in California

User group meeting for users in California is coming to an area near you soon! The user group meeting is scheduled to be hosted at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Diego – Mission Valley on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM (PST). There is no cost associated with this meeting. The user group will be hosted and conducted onsite at the DSN Annual Meeting in San Diego.

Know the hosts:

Stan Higgins joined Therap in 2018 as a Business Development Consultant. He has worked in the Developmental Disability field since 1998. Stan served as the Executive Director of an agency in Sonoma County, CA which provided Supported Living, Independent Living, Day Program, Transportation, Residential, Job Placement and Recreation services for adults.

Brent Hessee joined Therap in 2011. He began working in the field as a Direct Support Professional and has worked in multiple facets of an organization for 10 years. Brent began his career at Therap as a Training and Implementation Specialist. He has trained over 15,000 people on how to effectively implement Therap at their organization and has witnessed the positive effect that Therap can have in the transformation of an agency.

Therap National Conference 2020 – Call for Presentations

Therap National Conference 2020 will be held on January 28-30 at Denver, Colorado. We are offering an opportunity to Therap users who are interested in presenting either in a seminar/tutorial or panel discussion format at the event on topics that may interest your agency. Therap users can also include surveyors, families, state caseworkers or others who are interacting with agencies using Therap.

Previous presentations included:

  • Getting to buy in for Therap at your agency
  • Using mobile devices
  • Addressing quality assurance standards
  • Discussion on how your agency uses specific modules

State Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico

We are very happy to announce the New Mexico state conference in Albuquerque for 2019. The conference is scheduled on May 21-22, 2019 at the Isleta Resort & Casino. It is going to be one and a half day event of sessions by New Mexico Therap experts and a chance to network with your counterparts from across the state.

The event will be a good place to learn about recent developments in the Therap system, as well as individual support documentation and reporting, electronic health records (EHR) and training management from the technology leader in the developmental disabilities field. The training intensive event will include beginner, intermediate, and advanced level sessions conducted by Therap experts on various Therap modules.

Know the hosts:

Calvin Christensen joined Therap in 2014. He is a Business Development Consultant here at Therap. He began working in the mental health and developmental disabilities field in 2010. Calvin worked for an agency in Nebraska who provided services to adults who were considered high risk. Through this experience, Calvin gained a true understanding of how to provide services to individuals in the least restrictive environment possible.

Sarah Christiansen is currently a Senior Training & Implementation Specialist at Therap Services. Sarah Christiansen joined the Therap team as a Training Specialist in 2015. She has been working in the DD and Mental Health field since 2009. What drew Sarah to the human services field was the opportunity to help people find and explore their passions and enjoy the best quality of life possible.

Deborah Hibbard Brito is a Senior State Training & Implementation Specialist here at Therap. she has had a unique path to joining Therap Services. She began working in the Mental Health field in 1995 after graduating from Houghton College, NY with a Bachelors of Science degree with a major in Outdoor Recreation and Camp Administration and a minor in Psychology.

User Group Meeting for California Users

Join our upcoming Onsite/Online User Group Meeting for Users in California on February 19, 2019 at 1 PM (ET)/10 AM (PT) in San Francisco. Therap User Groups offer users to troubleshoot, network, discuss state and Regional issues, and learn about the newest Therap releases. At the user group meeting, you are invited to discuss issues, concerns and changes in state regulations from the California Department of Developmental Disabilities.

Therap has been supporting community service provider agencies and vendors in California since 2006, and currently, thousands of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in California are being supported by agencies that use Therap Electronic Documentation Software. This includes the full spectrum of services in California from ILS, SLS, Day and Supported Employment services to Residential and ICF, meeting state and Regional Center requirements and increasing operational efficiency. Therap has modules to help agencies manage employee training/certifications and schedules and also provide billing support.
