Research Associate

Therap Services, the national leader in online electronic health records and documentation for people with developmental disabilities is seeking an individual to fill the position of a Research Associate. This position will support our leading-edge efforts to create and integrate technologies that perform automated acquisition, storage, and analysis of human biometric data such as heart and breathing rate, blood pressure and oxygenation, sleep and exercise metrics.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and document the progress of relevant research and development projects internal to the company.
  • Survey the Internet and public marketing materials for relevant new and future-planned product technologies.
  • Attend online FDA briefings to remain current on product technologies that are pending approval.
  • Develop a broad understanding of the research in this area by reading and summarizing relevant articles in key journals.
  • Facilitate relationships with principal investigators at universities that are studying relevant technologies.
  • Author a technology survey document summarizing all external technologies; update this document monthly.
  • Create a database of relevant products with fields defined by company management.
  • Foster relationships with product technology companies; maintain at least one contact in the sales organization of each company and one contact in the technology organization; contact them frequently to maintain a current understanding of what their companies are planning and the time frame for their company’s product availability.
  • Report progress to management on a weekly basis.

Skills Required:

  • User level experience with databases, spreadsheets, document editing software, Internet search engines and tools (e.g., Google Alerts, Google Scholar, Google Patents, etc.)
  • Familiarity with machine learning and Internet-of-things technology.
  • The candidate must be a self-starter and highly internally motivated to ensure that all information is collected and reported on a timely basis. (Therap Services is a telework company; nearly all work will be performed by the candidate at his/her home. Company meetings are frequent and conducted via Zoom and Google Meet.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

Preferences:

  • Masters preferred in a relevant discipline, e.g., Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
